Relegation beckons. 14:05 - Jan 14 with 6151 viewsCyrilblake

This is my first ever post. What do we think? Once we get relegated it's the beginning of the end. 2011 was my greatest season with talk and real talk of a new stadium. But that was just B.S. it took them 10 years to get a new training ground. And that was funded by bonds that made Amit Bhatia plenty of money. Once Ferdinand left i knew the well was empty. It won't be long before we are administration, potless and docked points. I'm in the pocket watch for anyone who wants to come and pick my bottom lip up.

Didn’t go today because of a family’do’.
Have a season ticket in sth af rd and watched from home.
It was a strange sensation really, I found that I didn’t get as worked up as when I’m at the game.
Thought after the Cardiff game that we were down, because we can’t do anything very well, defend, stop opponents scoring or scoring ourselves.
Hope Marti stays.

I think most of us knew we were down after the first game of the season at Watford. Its heart v head at the moment hope v reality. Its not all the owners fault there has been a fair amount of luck go against us over the years from the dog walkers in Hanwell to the collapse of the transfer market and EPP coming in to steal all our kids. FFP rules whilst well meaning limit competition and as we can see this year the sides coming down have such an unfair advantage because of parachute payments. If you can't bring in a big gate your in trouble

When you get yourself in the shite in this league be it financially, dodgy owners, or just poor recruitment we've seen it and many clubs bigger than ours have gone down. Cardiff and Stoke have dodged it for a few years but their time is coming. Yes some have stayed down but others Ipswich, Norwich, Sheff Utd have come back stronger. We've been here before and in far worse circumstances where our very existence was under threat, I dont think that's the case now

Don't agree that we were down after one game, as we were always going to change managers. It's what we do, and what all clubs do.

Don't agree we're down now. It's January.

So kill me If I'm wrong but we started this season with a Manager painfully obvious to me who should have been relieved off his duties at the end of last season.

To my way of thinking relegation is nothing short of a disaster, on top of which It Is also comes under the wording 'failure'

* Ipswich, Norwich, Sheff Utd have come back stronger.*

What's to say we'll come back stronger, If at all? those three clubs all have far bigger crowds than us.

Charlton, Bolton, Portsmouth and to a lesser extent Derby all dropped ages ago and are still down there.

It's endless crap results, fecking endless.

Agree Brian. 19 games to go. I also don't accept that all the home January matches are the make or break games, given we are just as likely to win - and lose! - away from home. We should have won at Ipswich and will get other chances. Though we will definitely need to beat Huddersfield!

The Ainsworth handicap for the first third of the season has absolutely killed us. Eight points from forty two was always going to need a Steve Cooper/Forest type scenario to recover from that position.

MC is very far from a miracle worker but if he'd been here since pre-season we'd be in a much different place to now IMO.

We're obviously not mathematically down but we had four home games this month and we've blown half of them already. We don't score enough goals, so when you let easy goals in from corners like against Cardiff or give a 34-year-old all the freedom to shoot like today, you're asking for trouble...and then you do it a second time.

It's just a horrible team, lacking leaders and gutless but 100% will be looking for transfers, when we do go down.

Out of the last 60 games we've won 9 of them with 37 losses.

So WTF have we got to worry about?

The problem is we have only picked up 21 points. If we need 50 points to have a chance of survival then you can forget us getting 29 points in 19 games. This team is just not capable of doing it. Northern has been reminding us throughout the season in the match reports that when we do play well we always follow up with a naff display.

As we lost today playing well up to a point than I believe there is more chance we will not play well in the next two home games. I fully expect Millwall and Huddersfield to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in more than Watford did.

The other key factor in any relegation battle is to get most of your wins and points at home. Our home form is so shocking that I just cannot see how we can pick up over 20 points to have any chance.

We have been down ever since the day one and the first defeat to Watford.

The side Is crap.

The only two positives is marti if we can keep him
And the start of the changes in the boredom now instead of the summer.

I can't see how we will avoid relegation, but I do want us to try to!

Yesterday was one of our better performances & we had more chances than in any other match this season, but we still lost. That is the only fact that counts.

What I don't accept is that relegation will bring "administration, potless and docked points". Three clubs are relegated every season to Division One, but the vast majority survive without this being the case.
3
Relegation beckons. on 09:39 - Jan 15 with 3753 viewsBAWHoops

I don't think relegation will bring administration.
The owners aren't bust, they just can't chuck money at it because of FFP.

We are QPR, every 20 years we will likely spend 15 in the Championship 2-3 in Lg1 and 2-3 in the Prem.

Relegation doesn't need to be the end. What we do need to ensure is that the work is starting to now to re-shape the club after the failures of 2021 onwards so we have a good chance to come back up (and I'd imagine we would be around Play Off's in Lg1 purely down to our size, location and wealth of owners) and then once back in the Champ stay there and keep building

I hope the new CEO has an actual plan for the inevitable eventuality of us getting relegated. It will probably be to leave and get a better job but I would hope that it is to actually restructure everything to give us a chance. So many poor decisions have led to this moment but I hope that this new guy has a more constructive route for us to take in the future.

Never knowingly right.

19 games to go and 26 points to get to reach safety - an average of 47 points over the past 12 seasons. That works out at 1.37 points per game.

So far we've achieved 0.78 per game so we've got to almost double the number of points per game we've gained to reach 47 by the end of the season.

Cifuentes points per game is a tad over 0.84 - 11 points in 13 games.

I'm normally pretty optimistic but I'm now finding it increasingly difficult to retain any hope we'll escape the drop. I'm afraid all the signs point in one direcion. Down.
