So the games to be played the weekend before the start of the League Campaign !!
Its not as if players need to be protected. Its not a three game week. They are not exhausted by the pressures of the slog of league football. Home draw would be nice. Great way to start a new season with an unexpected win. Surely, that would give the boys and the fans with the league games starting the week after.
So likely first team to be selected, opponent and scoreline ???

Or, do they rationalise? Do they decide that they have no interest in winning a trophy anyway, so what's the point of winning one game?

Am guessing if Sky do live games for this round, our game v Millwall will be selected. Think if it is, they will broadcast it at 12.30pm ie lunchtime Saturday kick off. No chance they would be the Friday night live game in the middle of summer first home game of the season against Millwall.

Regards the team, I agree with you Brian, it has to be our strongest available squad.
The momentum going into a season, where our first eight games are all reasonably favourable, if they go in to the first eight games half cooked, they are seriously not doing their jobs correctly. The club need to get this right this season, otherwise sub par performances at the start of the season, with a team half filed with youngsters or squad players, will not go down well.

4 March 2027 will be the 60th anniversary of Queen's Park Rangers winning the only major trophy in their entire history.
It would be nice to think that for just this once, QPR would pull out all the stops and try to honour the memory of that gallant side who in 1967, did much to honour the fans and our club.

As unappealing as this is, a game with a slight edge a week before the Pompey game is probably a good thing. Our chances of doing anything this season rely on a fast start which obviously won’t happen as it never does but the optimist still somewhere towards the back of my brain and never fully departed thinks we’ve a chance of getting momentum early in the season rather than the usual August car crash. | | | |

The tournament in North America means the EFL season will start slightly later than normal, so the Carabao Cup has been moved back in an attempt to alleviate fixture congestion.
