Taken back how good they looked against Portugal. Even at 1 down I was thinking how good they looked. They look a much better team than us. How quickly they have become a good footballing nation.

Dempsey looked a world beater out there.

Poll: QPR future, what would you like to see happen

I'd take Jermaine Jones in a heartbeat.

There is way more to come, would not be surprised if they beat Germany and get to the semi's at LEAST. such togetherness to the squad. Allthough bradley was poor last night, id be very surprised if we dont see him in the champions league soon. A shame Geoff Cameron plays for that horrible hughes.

They are a very decent footballing team now. Think back to the 1990 tournament which I think was the first finals they had reached since beating us in 1950. They got knocked out in the first stage easily as whipping boys whilst we finished 4th. They have progressed massively since (making every finals since) whilst we have gone backwards. Back then you would never think that nearly 25 years later we are looking like the whipping boys whilst they look a very good shout for the quarters at least.

Poll: Which is the worst QPR team?

The last thing you want is them getting good so they take a big interest in the game they will want to take over , and before you know it you will have bigger goals, games finishing 10-9 , a game of 4 quarters instead of 2 halves don't think this is pie in the sky theyv'e tried it before

I have been doing the HT/FT bet where you reverse the teams. It is usually a minimum of 20-1 as it doesn't happen very often. The Portugal at HT and USA at FT bet was 40-1. I fell asleep at 1-1 but USA had the momentum. Gutted when I heard they equalised with 30 secs left!!

MLS spent a fortune to get Bradley back, they're not going to be rushing to let him go.

If they can get through the group it's likely Belgium in the next round so a great chance to progress further.

they looked good, not world beaters but good, but frankly portugal looked woeful, theres no team spirit there for sure, its 10 men then Ronaldo, he started getting stroppy with misplaced passes from about 10 mins in even though they were winning.

I think they are a good hardworking side, would love them to beat Germany. I liked the Klinsman interview at the end where he says now we need to beat the Germans, he loves America now.

They looked ok but still think they'll do well to get out of that group, after that possibly Belgium then Argentina. Can't see them going much further.

Also though Klinsmann saying they were going to put Ronaldo in his place was pretty disrespectful, he comes across as a right prat at times

Liked the look of the right back Fabian Johnson who has just signed for Borrusia Munchinggladsback. Would swap him for Simpson any day.

Poll: Where will Clive put QPR in his new season preview

Excellent team - we should be looking at their midfield if there's any chance of picking one of them up. Beckerman is a monster, though a bit limited, while Jones is an excellent player who would add some steal and passing ability to our squad.

They'll probably get KOed in the second round, but have given a very good account of themselves. The lack of a decent out-and-out forward will be their undoing.

Portugal woeful as always.

Bradley spent eight years with top teams in the Bundesliga and Serie A, he's not about to return to Europe now. He and his wife want their daughter raised close to family in North America.

Thought Bradley looked good last night - missed chance aside. He was awful in the first game though.

Jermaine Jones looked head and shoulders above anyone else on that team, even before the goal, really good performance.

It's interesting to see the US media continually underestimating the team's chances, stark contrast to the English "this is our year" media mentality!

how bizaree we share opposite opinions on bradley, i thought he was good vs ghana and woeful last night, especially for the equaliser.

what a fun team to watch though, they showed the scenes in chicago on TV, what was going on there?

Bradley didn't play as well as he can in either match. Typically he's a defensive midfielder/playmaker in the Ray Wilkins mould. Right now he's playing much further forward than usual – the chance he missed in the goalmouth was really unusual, not because it was saved but because he was there at all. Either Klinsmann's asking him to cover more ground, or he's trying to do too much. His giveaway for Portugal's tying goal was also very untypical, I think he'd just run himself out.

Yeah, admittedly I didn't see replays of the goal until recently, that was sloppy.

I presume they were showing Grant Park? Just a big screen set up in the park, but was a little odd - they had a "start line" where people queued, then with about an hour to go opened it up and everyone rushed for seats.

Not my scene, I just went to the nearest bar!

Bit surprised by how much interest the world cup is getting here, although do have to sigh occasionally when I hear words like "franchise", "soccer" or "what's the offsides rule?"

Oh yeah it may have been grant park.
Looked mental anyway

England wouldn't have got four points out of Ghana and Portugal. I do reckon QPR would give the yanks a good game though. :)

How do you know that?
Dempsey wouldn't get in the England squad, I know that.

England can't cope with being underdogs the way the USA do. England are a group of players who largely play for the biggest clubs and are used to being the big boys. That's why they can't cope with other good sides. The USA are perpetual underdogs and comprise players who haven't been brought up to be billy big bollockses of Man United, Liverpool etc.
