What a story this is.

She had to go through three qualifying matches to make the main draw, and she’s now in the US Open final without dropping a single set.

Let’s hope she wins it.

She's so likeable.

Even if she doesn't win it what an achievement.

Amazing achievement. Two teenagers lighting up women’s tennis. Wonder how long till we see it in the men’s game?

If you can't watch it live, Prime have 'replays' that you can watch any time. That's what I did and avoided tv phone and pc so I didn't know the result in advance.

Because SPOTY is the important here, a phone-in poll, rather than her doing something amazing in her own sport.
Rather like if England had won the Euros and someone had said "They must be favourites for the team of the year award now".

She's fearless. Hopefully she can remain fearless. At this point it's hard to see why she wouldn't be in the final. She reminds me of how Boris Becker stormed the game. Brilliant and loving every minute.

Never knowingly right.

Yes reminded me of Becker although he was not a qualifier when he won Wimbledon - he was world no 20 at the start of that.

What she has done is phenomenal- going through the qualifying rounds, not dropped a set. If she stays injury free a big future is ahead.

That's a really good analogy however you could make a similar comparison to the other finalist? She is only a few months older than Emma R and has beaten better players to get to the final... Should be a cracker, let hope neither get stage fright!

Have to say that when she pulled out of that game this summer at Wimbledon sighting stress causing breathing difficulties I did think that she may not have the mental strength for the top
You hoped that because she is young it may be something that she will eventually manage. No matter the talent the pressure being talented can be enormous. Cricket with Trescothick, Trott and now Stokes is testament to this
But wow as she come back and so happy for her as she seems to be a lovely young lady as well
Just hope her team will look after her, and of course the British public don't try and bring her down with expectation
Best of luck to her for the final.whatever the result I hope she is still applauded for a great achievement

Yes it is literally incredible.

How the hell has she managed that from out of nowhere?

She has been superb and it's one in the eye for Piers Morgan who stupidly had a pop at her after her Wimbledon exit

Im really happy for her, hopefully a sign of more to come. I watched her at Wimbledon and really felt for her when I could see what was happening to her. When youve suffered bouts of anxiety you feel like to can tell when others are starting to wobble.

Fantastic achievement, what a story! Loved her nod to her Romanian heritage by wearing an outfit clearly co-ordinated to represent the Romanian flag.

Yes, Becker was more established at that point - he'd been a pro for a couple of years before that and had played at a number of major tournaments. That was his 2nd Wimbledon.

What makes Raducanu's rise so eye-popping is she had virtually none of that. She though she might get a wild card for Wimbledon but managed to qualify (just). She and her team then decided to have a crack at a couple of US tournaments with an outside chance of qualifying for the US open and now she's in the final without dropping a set.

AND she's making it look easy.

Quite astonishing.

I'm with gazza on this - extremely distasteful, irrelevant and unnecessary posts. There's really no need for this nonsense.

To all those looking to hijack a feel good sporting moment to spout nonsense on immigration, give your heads a wobble.
