Top 3 Favourite Comedy Characters 18:25 - Jan 9 with 7108 views | FredManRave | No right answers, it's all about opinions etc etc. My top 3* off the top of my head would be; 1. Basil Fawlty - Utter comedic madcap genius. So many LOL moments that can be watched again and again. Pure Genius. 2. David Brent (In the first two series). Very original at the time. A heady mix of inteligent witty comedy mixed with so many cringe worthy moments. 3. Sheldon Cooper - A bit left field but the timing and delivery of such complex and detailed scripts is very impressive. Razor sharp wit, imo. *As OP I have the right to change my top 3 at any time..... [Post edited 9 Jan 2018 20:30]

Top 3 Favourite Comedy Pesronalities on 20:03 - Jan 9 with 3821 views | Lblock | Too many but none too recent 1. Chris Morris... avatar giveaway. Way, way, way ahead of his time 2. The entire cast of The Fast Show -- never has such simle comedy been so intelligent, so catchy and developed cult status 3. Ian Stone - a proper time served stand up who is a really funny bloke just to chat to. He's proper on the edge and rapid; or at least he was years back when I followed a lot of his gigs and also got chatting to him in Chiswick I was torn on the last one between Harry Enfield (early stuff), Micky Flannagan or Milton Jones
| Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal |

What I actually meant but didn't clearly say was favourite Comedy Characters. Otherwise I would have included Larry David but in Curb he's just playing himself so not a made up character which is why I didn't include him. But totally agree re Curb and Seinfeld and they're both thanks to him.

Top 3 Favourite Comedy Characters on 21:10 - Jan 9 with 3660 views | Toast_R | Larry David in Curb. Genius. I'll say that's a chatacter as everyone in that show are playing twisted versions of themselves, guessing that's how Gervais got the remedy for Extras... Del Trotter - Absolutely timeless Frank Spencer - Close between him and Basil Fawlty, Frank just edges it for me. Michael Crawford did his own crazy stunts, what more do you need?

1. Edmund Blackadder - how so much comedy gold was ever put together into one character speaks volumes for Curtis and Elton's writing. 2. Chris Morris - as said before, a genius ahead of his time. Was a fan as soon as I watched the first 5 minutes of The day today. Astonishing group of writers involved with the show, but it is Morris's Paxmen-esque character"Christopher Morris" that steers the madness through. Later reused in Brass-eye and again so far ahead of its time. 3. Alan Partridge - Spun out of the Day Today as a stand alone awkward character played slightly uncomfortably by Steve Coogan as a 23 year old, but developed into a national treasure as Coogan matured and their two's relative ages have come together. Top 3 Favourite Comedy Characters on 22:14 - Jan 9 with 3550 views | BrianMcCarthy | 1. Jeeves - in the books or as played by Stephen Fry 2. Eccles - my favourite Goon 3. Hawkeye Pierce Spike Milligan in his war diaries probably doesn't count as it's mostly autobiographical, but if it did he'd be No. 1. Same with the Jerry Seinfeld character in 'Seinfeld', who would have been No. 2 if it weren't largely autobiographical.
