After supporting The R`s for over 40 years I really feel let down my the new ground that might never happen, we have gone down from a 40,000 capacity to a 30,000 capacity and now TF says the new ground is a long way away because of not much support, this Is a major blow after all the promises, I feel we are getting left behind, even little old Brentford have moved on and catching us up, this is embarrassing being a Rangers fan, a few years ago we were talking about The Spud Chelsea ect and now both Foolham and Brentford seem to be overtaking us, we need a new ground to move forward, we simply can not compete with our small capacity and will not grow, even more we see the likes of our little neighbours overtaking us, we are becoming a joke club with false promises and that hurts |  | | |  |

I would rather atay at LR than build a new ground just for the sake of it.
If we were to be promoted & stay for a minimum of five years then we might need to think again, but at present a new ground would be as sucessful as Coventry's has been! | | | |

Anyone who has bought/sold a flat/house will know what an utter ballache it is and can take ages and often fall through just when you thought it was all ok.
Multiply that a thousand fold when trying to find a new ground for QPR. Look at the prorities & hurdles involved;
Keep within localsed area - reduces options considerably
Finding a suitable site in that area, which is already fairly densly populated and hugely expensive
Having to deal with siuations such as CarGiant
Having to deal with top level London authorities
40,000 may seem ambitious but it will be used for events other than football. A MK Dons type stadium would be great. Keep upper tier closed until a game/event can utilise it
We know the fans are out there but what happens if 30/40k ground built and they dont turn up? Big gamble for any owner when we cant fill our current ground.
Owners big up new ground - gets criticised when things don’t happpen. Owners say nothing - gets criticised for keeping fans in tne dark. Cant win really.
Warren Farm has had approval from all the authorities but its a bunch of Brentford supporting dog walkers with some serious wedge behind them holding things up.

I think this is part politics, last week Hoos was putting pressure on the council to back us on LCS if they want us to stay in the area now TF is saying that we have no support which may be an attempt to encourage the council to get on-side rather than be seen as driving us out of the area. The difficulty we have is that they won't be desperate to keep us around as there are already 2 other clubs in the borough whereas clubs like Swansea & Hull have had great support for their new stadiums because the local area needs them. |  |

The bit about support levels is a red herring. Get a swanky new ground and, almost overnight, attendances will rise (by about 5,000?). That's what has happened everywhere else. Go look at the catchment area. West of Edgware Road, north of the M4, all the way out to the M25. 2m inhabitants. If we should be successful, we could fill a 30,000 seater stadium.
Then, there's the increased opportunities for commercial usage of the stadium.
It's still a big step to find the right location and to get the design right to reflect variable attendances. And even bigger step, to finance a stadium in West London. |  |

I can understand the OP saying Brentford and Fulham have overtaken us, but it' s more that they have retaken their former positions. When I first attended, us and Brentford were both div 3 south. Brentford were the stronger with bigger gates and had played for a short time in the top flight. Fulham were much bigger, playing in the top flight and getting gates of 20 to 30 thousand. |  | | |

Reading averaged about 10K at Elm Park, now it's nearer 20K.
By and large the move has been a success for them, a huge one actually when you consider what they've done since the move, as opposed to beforehand.
Still not sure TF will ever prove capable of pulling this off personally, they should try to engage the Mittals more who I think would be more capable of pulling this off- not just financially.

He seemed to blame the authorities and I wouldn't be surprised if he tested how much they care by looking outside the Borough.
It'd be interesting if the club asked its Membership on their thoughts of moving a little out of the way down the M4 / M40 corridor - there may be more opportunities out that way.

Funny, I can't remember the club making any promises.
Aspirations yes. Possibilities yes. OOC a very long term possibility (10-15 years plus) and it remains that. The latest utterance from Fernandes I would not think changes much. It sounds like LCS is not a goer as there is not a lot of political support at the mo. Political support can change like the weather.

6 weeks ago the club were showing draft plans for LCC that they had drawn up. They were due to be discussing with the local council later this year. There had already been preliminary discussion with stakeholders, some of whom are keen, some less so, but a lot was dependant on the conversations that they were hoping to have much later this year with LBHF.
One other point to note is that the question around capacity was less based on our current attendance or any promotion, but the attraction for venue hire which ,like it or not, is how stadiums make money along with functions/events etc. Gate receipts are not overly relevant, especially in the PL where the money from everything else makes gate receipts a drop in the ocean. A 30,000 stadium in W12 that can be used for indoor and outdoor events has great potential for generating revenue. When you consider that a stadium is used 23 times or so in 365 days it's a significantly under utilised asset.
Unless anything has changed in 6 weeks, i would read TF comments as an unintelligent hint to the council. Either way, LCC is considered the last chance to stay local. |  |
