Fair play to her. I'm in no way a Royalist but I'll be sad when she passes. A remarkable lady.

I think her passing will herald the start of significant changes. Whether they are ‘great changes’ or not, will depend largely on who is at at the helm. As one looks around, the concern is that there isn’t anyone in the wings or corridors of power who inspires confidence of having the necessaries to guide the good ship through the likely choppy waters ahead.

As the years have passed I think she’s taken on a status that is nigh on impossible to follow. Never wanted the job, but I think she’ll be missed and where it’ll be most telling, is how her total devotion to her duty, country and the manner in which she’s conducted herself in public life, are of considerably higher standards than those who have, are and will be elected in to high office.

Put it this way: I think she’ll be sorely missed, but there’s no glaringly obvious Michael Beale to replace her by a country mile!

Wasn't planning on watching it, but the intro with Paddington, then the Marine drummers leading in to Queen with Adam Lambert was a terrific start. I enjoyed many of the subsequent acts and marvelled at the technical production.

Decided to watch the lot - Love HRH but found the middle order of the show onwards a bit meh - then some gushy yuk towards the end.

Right, off to get a Marmalade sandwich now.

That light show at the end was pretty impressive…. No idea how they made the projections hang in the air to form the corgi etc???????

The music way out of my personal taste spectrum but fair play on the production

Good speeches by Charlie and Wills.

Now onto the final day and everything crossed I can have a beer in the street (and not sing football songs which I’d normally be doing during such behaviour)

GSTQ

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Think I read that the light show was done using drones?

Think she is the Royal version of Alex Ferguson it will take a long while to recover from just how good a job she has done. I am a republican but the difference between her actions and the Prime Ministers during Lockdown has made me question whether an elected Head of State would be the best thing for the UK

Well the obvious replacement is Charles because it is written in the constitution and then William. Personally I think the monarchy will endure and having had a conversation with a friend who did not hide his republican ideals I did challenge him to name one prime minister during the Queens reign that would have done a better job as the figurehead of this country. He couldn’t. I’m taking my lad down to the pageant today. I remember going to the silver jubilee procession and we ended up standing on the south side of Trafalgar Square to see the gold coach with the Queen inside. That was my first of four jubilees and this, unless the Queen makes it to 75 is likely to be my last. And it is also likely that for my lad he may not see another for 40+ years. Whatever people may think of the celebrations we are living history this weekend.

Not a royalist by any stretch as you may have guessed but she's game for a laugh and that was a cracking opening.
The usual suspects showed up after that .
Not a grey hair in sight on the mainly sixty/seventy something male performers.
A little bit of jeopardy with Diana Ross at the end . I genuinely thought she was going to stack it but fair play she got there in the end.
Brilliant organization and these people know how to put on an event.
When there finished today. Get them to our airports to sort out the unholy mess unfolding there.

I don’t think Charles will, but stepping aside for William would be better in my view.

For which there is precedent and by which she came to the throne.

1936 and the abdication of Edward VIII isn’t a precedent for Charles stepping aside. The constitution decreed that the monarch couldn’t marry a divorcee. It’s changed now. Charles has waited nearly 3/4 of a century to do the job he was born to do. I think he’ll stick with it.

I thought she was going to lose it via several senior moments occurring at once.

Our country may not be perfect, but what a great country it is and events like the jubilee showcase us Brits in our best light. Nothing wrong with a constitutional monarchy it cost a king his head and actually brought balance into how our democracy has developed.

I think the complete opposite..
Queen should of folded when Freddie passed,I’m not a fan, but they just sound like a tribute band.
But that’s why we all have opinions...

I thought it was a great show, but am amazed that the woke ones haven't suggested that it was a bit "English". Apart from a couple of Americans (what the hell is that about - Alicia Keys going for New York, before belatedly changing it to London?), most (if not all) the performers were English. And don't even suggest that Rod Stewart is anything else ).

No Tom Jones, no Shirley Bassey, Curling was mentioned by Doc Brown, but no Scottish Olympians (plenty to choose from there) and no-one (apart from Jason Donovan) from the Commonwealth. Bit strange in this PC age.

Bloody good entertainment though - Gawd bless ya, Ma'am...

... and the Paddington bit was awesome.

Couldn't agree more. Lost interest in Queen after "a night at the opera" but Queen without a Freddie is like a pencil without lead . Pointless!!

I think Adam Lambert is a great showman but he doesn't hold a candle to Freddie's voice IMHO. I actually think Sam Ryder is a lot closer to Freddie's vocal range than Adam.

Shut your eyes and for me this is Freddie reincarnated.
