Bit of a rarity up the Liberty, this afternoon, in the form of a 0 - 0 score against Everton. Don't see many of them! Not a particularly inspiring match, not helped by a referee who would have struggled at Ashleigh Road. Suppose that Everton will be happier with their point than Swansea, although they did finish the match with 10 men after Kevin Miralis was sent off about 90 seconds after having come on as a substitute. Still, a point towards safety

Great result.........very lacklustre performance from Dale. Not so much McNulty more McArdle in his distribution from the back........thank goodness the introduction of Calvin the Galviniser and Joe Bunny gave us the much needed impetus to put the game to bed in the end.........3 good points but very mediocre display.

Millwall next......oh well!

An entertaining game and at times it felt like our goal was living a charmed life. Best chance though fell to Gomis in the first half which he pulled wide and if Ki had been more composed at the end then we could have possibly nicked it with the last chance. Big improvement in performance though from last week and now let's have a look at the COC and see how we get on against Hull in midweek

Both teams were hopeless and excellent in equal measure, which made for an entertaining game.

We were excellent in the first 30 mins, pressing well and exploiting Utd's weaknesses. Then we dropped off for no apparent reason and started inviting attacks, so that Utd's first goal was inevitable. Second half continued in the same way, inviting attack after attack, and it was only when Pelle got his second that we actually looked decent again.

People will rightly blame Yoshida for the second Utd goal, but we actually gifted Utd all three of their goals: not clearing our lines properly for first goal (which was offside) and letting Utd walk through us for their third. I'm concerned that we seem to have a worrying tendency to capitulate when we concede, and at times in the second half it looked like it could turn into a rout.

Tactics-wise, I don't understand why we didn't continue to expose their channels as we did in the first 30 mins. Mane had Blind on toast, as did Pelle. And I'm not sure I see the logic of playing a left-footed player at RB and bringing on a right-footed player at LB.

"IF"

IF Pelle had scored his second goal instead of hitting the post.
IF we had cleared the ball properly instead of fluffing about.
IF the linesman (sorry, referees assistant..) had given off-side.
IF we had stuck to our game plan.
IF we had kept it to 1-1 longer into the second half.
IF Yosh hadn't under hit his back pass (or was he attempting passing to Fonte?).
IF we hadn't given Utd so much space!
IF De Gea hadn't pulled of a great save from Fonte.
IF we had got a goal back earlier.
IF we want to win games and climb the table.. we need to keep our composure.

Great for 30 mins but I feared we would rue the missed chance when Pelle hit post and low behold. De Gea was different class and pulled off at least 5 great saves and should have got the press MoM rather than Martial.
Strange how we dropped off and sat back for the last 15 of the first half and although their goal was offside, Prowse should have cleared.
Maya screwed up big time just like Fonte last season.
Joke was really on us for the 3rd with 45 (yes forty fvcking five) passes before the goal. We then only started showing some fight and desire once Pelle made it 3-2, Unlucky in the end with more class saves, but why so slack for nearly an hour.
Disappointing that so many were leaving with 15 left.
Finally, what did United have to do to get a yellow? so much they got away with (including martial elbow on vvs) , yet vvd and Fonte got yellows for their first real fouls.. Guess we will just have to win at Old Trafford again then.

Hugely dispiriting to throw it away against a team that were never, even when on top, that impressive. Pelle should hace made it 2-0 but when he didn't we suddenly seemed to lose something and invited them on to us. Yes it was offside but Yoshida tackled with his left foot and pushed the ball towards the centre. Why wasn't Soares playing? Yoshida's horror back pass was unacceptable and after the third I feared 4 or 5 for a while. We got a second out of the blue and could easily have equalised.

Our problems this season are in the full back positions. I thought Soares was supposed to be the first choice right back. Martina is hopeless and and Yoshida showed us today that he is always an accident waiting to happen. I thought Targett was better today but we need Bertrand back for his movement forward.

Finally to follow on from comments about tactics - why did we change? I didn't see Man U do anything to make us change - so why?

A wasted evening for the Swans with plenty of chances in the game, certainly more than enough to win the game. One of the things we will know from 5 years in the PL is that if you do not take your chances you are likely to win the game and this was proven again last night against a side with recent PL experience. Good luck to Hull in the next round but hugely frustrating that we are out of a competition that we have the ability to go a long way in. I guess there is always the FA Cup...
