Consigliere added 14:09 - Jan 3 As my old friend Mr Rumpole of the Bailey was fond of saying, "He who keeps his head when all around are losing theirs'..........may have seriously under-estimated the gravity of the situation." This is beginning to look like a relegation dog-fight. As one of the more positive contributors to this site I think it's time for a serious moan about some of our overpaid players. Mane and Wanyama should be told in words of half a syllable that they are employees, no more and no less. They will be held to their contracts and made to serve them out until the very last second. I know that this will mean that the Board won't be able to cash in on valuable commodities but it is necessary to think long-term and to send a very clear message to any other prima donnas in the team: This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. As to the rest of them I hope that they were told to attend for extra practice at 7am this morning. We, the paying supporters, are not amused. corkcitysaint added 08:10 - Jan 4 Aceofthebase - I don't believe that fines have the effects or impact they once had. Not with the wages that the premiership players are on these days. It would need to be a sizable amount or else fine the whole squad... As for extra training, I can't see that working either. Public shaming - as leaving him on the bench, may work. Have people ask the question why he wasn't playing. Have the player come out and explain to the fans why he let everyone down. He knows the rules. This is twice it has happened to him. Gowerjack added 21:07 - Jan 5 The crab fishcakes were slightly overdone and to be honest notbreally very nice. My main course of a t bone pork chop was delicious served with chunky chips and homemade picallii. I have to say however I'm no fan of this modish trend of seving food on wooden platters,I much prefer real crockery. The cheese & biscuits were ok and served at the correct temperature. The room was quite cramped and had no windows the service and welcome were very good. Overall I'm only ablento give this one 6 out of 10 nowhere near as good as the hospitality provided at Villa Park. The Swans lost 2-1. IWOZTHERE added 20:02 - Jan 9 Couldn't get there and lost my live stream. Re RK's interview.... must have been under instructions not to ask about Wanyama... What's the score? IWOZTHERE added 20:19 - Jan 9 WHOOPS! Dementia's kicked in. For some reason I thought VW had served his ban and something sinister was going on! steadyeddie added 21:39 - Jan 9 DPeps added 23:38 - Jan 9 simmo400 added 05:45 - Jan 10 mbtsfc added 09:53 - Jan 10 Saints started OK., but were guilty once more of failing to find the net in the opening stages. Palace looked to hit on the break and were rewarded for their 'in-your-face' attitude by being presented with their first goal. Yet again indecisive actions by one of our FIVE defenders was capitalised on. Second goal was a series of defensive errors again, but by that time the Palace had the game won. A late rally may be carried forward into our next game; one can hope? Is it just me or did it look like most of the Palace players were taller/slimmer/fitter than Saints? The only exception to that was Jason, (not quite the tall/slim type! ) who was right up there in the rankings for man of the match in my opinion. Pardew had us sussed before we kicked a ball, and will one day be a great England Manager, as long as he can stop 'admiring' the wife of a player or two.... aceofthebase added 10:09 - Jan 10
