What I bought this year which is very little, I’m quite out the loop with new music and rarely do I hear something I’d actually be willing to part with my cash for…

Queen - Live At The Rainbow 74
California Breed - California Breed
Paloma Faith - A Perfect Contradiction
Queen - Queen Forever (Just for that two new songs)
London Grammar - If You Wait

Don't wanna be a music nerd but Night Time, My Time came out last year, amazing album though, I love it lol

My top 5 is:
Babymetal by Babymetal
Wishful Thinking by Neck Deep
Issues by Issues
Hesitant Alien by Gerard Way
The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets by The Marmozets

Tbf it's a tough choice as I think there's been many amazing albums this year, I guess I'm just following trends pretty closely but that's no bad thing lol

Glad you mentioned the Marmozets.

Find this hard to do before January and I've had a chance to properly trawl through the Best Of lists. But anyway, based on the limited selection of albums I've actually heard this year:

1. Elbow - The Take off and Landing of Everything
2. Andy Stott - Faith in Strangers
3. Aphex Twin - Syro
4. Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots
5. St. Vincent - St. Vincent

I'm sure there's plenty of other decent stuff out there that I'm yet to discover. Will try and have a listen to some of those mentioned above.

Yes definitely Syro would be in there even if I have had to change my Avatar to that lovely Doughnuts picture!

I haven't heard enough albums to even pick 5, but I do like the Royal Blood album, and Jungle is good too. Kasabian had a great year and 48.13 has to be one of the best they've released. I've got the Elbow album too and whilst I don't like it as much as the other three, it's got some great tracks - My Sad Captains in particular.

So my top 4 would be:

Royal Blood
Kasabian
Jungle
Elbow

I know I am biased but Aphex's Syro is brilliant.
