Note the gap in the houses, that's Loftus Rd 1905, exactly the same spot the entrance is today.

1905? With an ad for Volkswagen? No roof on the 'Loft', either.

(Nice pic, btw. What's with the Shepherd's Bush Football Club? The stripes look like 1901-02...)

If you're talking about the original picture, seeing as we're playing Watford, that photo would be no earlier than 1979-1980 season. Also the grass pitch was ripped up in May 81 so it could be 1980-1981 season.

The photo is from the FA Cup 3rd round game against Watford on 5 January 1980. We lost 2-1 to an own goal by Bob Hazell. Who also scored our goal.

I can't remember anything about this season but can tell you all you need to know about 1979/80.

I am a sad sad git.

Well spotted.

My first home game. As debutants, my brother and I inexplicably ended up in the school end with the Watford fans. Explaining our dilemma to the OB on the touchline, after looking us up and down he concluded our story was true and that we were not Watford's top boys looking to cause havoc, and as it was still a few minutes from kick off, quickly waved us through to the Loft.

First home game, knocked out of the cup in the third round. I can't say I wasn't warned.

What sparked my attention was the separation on the terrace. I’d presumed the Police had divided the fans on the stand, which I never recall happening. I stood up there sometimes, as a kid, then sauntered around with Chrissie Hardwick’s(spelling?)fun loving troop.

No, you're not.

Remember it all so well. Allen and Goddard. Tony Currie. 7-0 Burnley 4-0 Charlton 3-0 away at Preston - we seemed to score goals for fun back then. How we didn't go up I'll never know.
