Quite ludicrous language from the FA:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64315510

One of the players involved was a loanee of ours, Amrit Bansal-McNulty

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

It takes some doing to be the most offensive person to ever work at a football club that has also appointed Steve Evans.

I saw the story today with the release of the FA paperwork - I did a quick scan on the first 3 pages and couldn't see a thread.

Deliberately ignored that thread because it’s clearly heading in a direction that I’m keen to avoid.

I think/hope he means the ban is too short. I'm giving benefit of the doubt.

I see that the FA are now saying that they didn't agree with the independent panel regarding whether the comments were intentionally racist.

FA wanted a 2 year ban apparently.

surely the independent panel decide if he is guilty or not, submit the report then the FA issue the punishment? The way they do it seems very backward

Backward is definitely the word.
They did it with John Terry as well - found him guilty of calling Ferdinand a 'fcking black cnt', banned him for four matches, but went out of their way to say "oh but he's definitely not a racist". It's like being called a racist is worse than actually saying the racist stuff in the first place. Like when ministers lie in parliament and nothing happens, but as soon as somebody says "you're a liar" all hell breaks loose - what's the bigger crime here?

When you look at the punishments on the website, that 4 games was ludicrous.

"One off" racist remarks are usually punished by 6 - 8 match bans from the cases I have looked at & those are all low level cases if you like, ie not from the top 5 leagues.

Don’t think there is any defending his behaviour. Whilst not in the Grahame Ricky category it’s the poor blokes on the end of his derogatory laungage I feel sorry for .
I thought we’d put this chapter of football to bed, obviously I was wrong.
