We have had some very decent ones over many years but many many dreadful exponents of the art of keeping.
Parkes, Seaman and Stejskal all have been outstanding players.
Some have had great seasons such as Smithies, Dieng, Kenny, Burridge to name a few and some that went on elsewhere to top careers afterward - Chris Woods seem to remember having a short spell here.
But we have a knack of producing a high number of Calamity James keepers who excel in the downright crazy moments - Tony Roberts being the king of all in this.
Is it such a hard position to find with all this data available worldwide nowadays ??
Always had a soft spot for simon royce he’s never spoken about much
Anyone remember Rossi?
I remember Rossi, I saw him play against Cardiff. Hair so dark and glossy that it could've launched a thousand Head & Shoulders ads.
I seem to recall that Ian Holloway said Rossi was the most unfit footballer he'd ever come across.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Never met him and far too young to have seen him play but when my dad was younger he lived next to Mike Kelly who would take him to games, and thus is indirectly the reason I'm a QPR fan. So got to give him a shout out here.

And he became the England goalkeeping coach!
Kelly made a major contribution at the end of the 67/68 promotion & by far our best (only) player at Villa on the last day.

I think we tried to resign Dieng off Boro once the Eze money came through but it was too late or not agreed.
I suspect we shall be back in for him in Jan. Nardi I think now is toast. Shame last season I thought he was decent. It seems he has regressed.
My uninformed view is Stephan must have had some kind of run in with Nardi in France. And could understand if Nardi wants to move elsewhere he is more appreciated by the management.
I have absolutely no memory of Rossi playing in goal. If you'd asked I would have said he was a left back, but I suspect that bloke was Mauro Milanese.

Man United had a young striker named Rossi who was around just before Mancheda.
It took google to remind me which one we loaned, but it unsurprisingly turns out it wasn't the one with 30 Italy caps.

And can see Dieng being brought in January, also
I’m concerned that Walsh is nearing fitness and will return to the starting line up. I agree that Nardi is not wanted by Stephan and is likely to move on in January. Hopefully Dieng will return.

Anyone terrified to recall George Bankoles one appearance?!
I might try again with Lee. Used to go to all the games with his dad when he played for us but he said Lee wasn't up for that Under the Cosh style stuff when I asked, but I noticed he gave a fan site an interview recently that got picked up by a Sunderland blog.

Jurgen sommer when we signed him I always wondered why?
Another one i never got why we didn't try to sign Nigel Martyn from palace when they got relegated in the early 90s

Kasey Keller was picked up by Leicester from Millwall at about the same time as we were wasting £750k on Sommer for about the same fee. We'd even come up against Keller the season before in the FA Cup so Wilkins must have known about him.
Whatever type of cross came into our box he’d not only take the ball cleanly but wipe out whatever opposition got in the way. Most corners ended with one of theirs receiving treatment.
Great shot stopper too. He was unfortunate from an international perspective to have so many good keepers around the England team.
