Well I think we all knew that would end in tears but I truly am shocked they binned him off

Forest really are a laughing stock

The parameters defining 'basket case' are spreading so wide it'll soon come to be applied to any team that isn't top of its division.

Sheffield Wednesday are a genuine basket case. Forest are nothing like, they've had a lovely couple of seasons in the top flight and their current plight is just providing a little schadenfreude for envious fans of clubs who've had nothing to cheer for years.

Sacking a decent manager with decent results since arriving and with 10-12 games left is basket case to me

Harford was caretaker but he lasted 46 days and 7 matches which was longer than Paul Hart who he replaced (29 days and 5 matches).

whileboth was in charge it felt like lifetimes paul harts line up of 11 defenders will live long in the memory

Well, at least now Dyche will be able to release his album of tender love ballads in time for Valentines Day.

I don't actually think Harford was caretaker.
It may have been billed as that when they got Warnock out of Palace but my recollection is Harford was appointed.

Did we ever get any insight into the appointment of Paul Hart in the first place?

I'd love to have seen a transcript of his interview.

Then you misunderstand the meaning of the expression.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

I think you are right.

The wiki is a page of permanent managers and Harford is listed as such.

However, if you look at newspaper reports from the time they do describe Harford as caretaker. Bizarre!

This one from the Standard is dated 2012 for some reason:

And this one says the QPR players didn't want Warnock and were happy with Harford:

Strange times!

Yeh I think they just 'styled it out' when we kept losing and Warnock became available.

Harford did very well in his first spell as caretaker and there was a deal of chat around that he should have just been given the job.

Oh lordy . That *is* ugly.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
