Fab interview between Ale and Nico.

Thought there were some interesting insights in there. Really clear to see how he feels his performances last season were based on confidence and struggling to adapt. He also attributes some of the teams struggles more recently to injuries and our surprisingly high number of them (he describes it as 'unfortunate').

If Sinton ever steps down as club ambassador Ale should be his replacement. Wonderful human.

Poll: Do you think this current QPR team has got what is takes to go up this year?

Love one of them.

The other - 50/50 - and will have to do another good season to make me consider forgetting how lazy he was in last year's poor season before I love him.

Have you watched the interview Brian? He explains it a bit. I think he realises now what he needs to do to be a good player in the Championship.

He seems like a nice fella even if you don’t like him as a player. But you don’t have to love him obviously.

Either way they have surprisingly good chemistry!

Ya, I have, Nix.
I watched the other one at the start of the season too.

I'm sorry. It's not that I don't like him. He seems a lovely lad.
I've never met him so of couse this isn't personal.

But last year he hid in games, and was lazy as sin.
This year he hasn't, and isn't.
If he's still here next year, I might forget about last year.

I never saw it that way. he never "hid." He's a cerebral player who'd rather make no move than a bad move. He watched, studied and learned. That approach paid off for him, and the team, as we can see now.

Bit harsh to expect Faurlin to play another season Brian.

Ha ha!

I'm not upset, Nix.

He went games without tackling in his first season, numerous games without one single tackle. I saw numerous instances of him not tracking back. Just giving up, and not bothering.

He definitely hid behind players so as not to get the pass, but then so did Colback (we love him, Nixy! :) ). This bit, I can understand. This might be fear. This might be lack of confidence. I can get that.

But not tracking back to help out your team-mates?
Not tackling for the ball to help out your team-mates?

I don't understand that.

As I say, glad he's playing well now.

It does seem that the “hiding” in games and his overall performance was down to a mental and “confidence” thing. He speaks about being “quiet” and needing a “safe place”, which he obviously didnt feel then. Ronnie said he was a different person. I do like the fact that Edwards, Madsen, Cook and Dunne hang out for coffee after training for some reason….old and young heads! Back to my point, Madsen seems to suggest that it’s the mental issues he had that made him play like that. Now for me, I just think, “just run around more”, but then I’ve no idea how these issues can impact you. That’s why I think we should just forget last season happened for him and move on and be happy with player we have now. Hes player of the season for me now, no question.

That was superb Ale was great as the interviewer, so relaxed and natural, you could see the mutual respect for each other and we obviously just love Ale's passion for the club....

I think he also shows how much he enjoyed his time at QPR and living in Chiswick - great player and great person.

I think the line that he was too unhappy to tackle or too homesick to track back does kind of iognore that Kevin Gallen flagged that there were questions about his work-rate and physicality before he joined us.

I'd like to think that he learned from the coaches, the players and the fans what's acceptable and what isn't, and that he improved. That would make it less likely that he'd revert, hopefully.

I agree with you that he's player of the season to date. And by a distance too.
