There was an end of season debrief with the CEO at Loftus Road last night which I attended. We've whacked the audio on the Patreon, no pay wall on this so you should all be able to listen whether you've got a sub or not - please let me know if that's not the case.

I'll perhaps type the minutes up physically over the weekend if I've got enough in the tank...

Well I’ve listened to this back again and I think that I am just going to have to suffer that CN’s presentation style is always going to rub me up the wrong way.

However, my reason for posting is CN’s rather snotty response to Clive’s question about the concession pricing which perhaps betrays what is actually going on.

CN prefaces his response with the fact of the EFL reciprocity rules i.e. we have to offer the same age concessions to away fans that we offer to home fans.

Perhaps it is Away Fans who have been taking the piss (they don’t have any interest in the prosperity of QPR.)

Perhaps I am barking up the wrong tree here because I don’t exactly know how revenue from away fans sales is managed.

This would beg the question - if that is the case why didn’t CN just say this? I can think of a couple or reasons.

More generally, I (like many others posters) was getting distinct Paladini vibes from how this meeting was structured and the attendee list etc.

Also, CN is better with more open questions where he can explain his ‘vision’ rather vaguely. He does not like more direct closed questions of the professional journalist that Clive is. CN does not like to be tied down on specifics. Hence his somewhat frosty relationship with Clive.

Just catching up on all of this.

I represent AKUTRs at these meetings, so I have to be very respectful of that. Dave gives me a couple of items he is interested in, and I report back. Dave trusts me enough to have carte blanche, though, and to ask my own questions. But again, the responsibility of being there on behalf of DT is something I take seriously. Although I am totally sure at this point, CN and PM know exactly who I am and my views on Christian.

In previous meetings I have pushed Nourry on tough topics and weirdly at the end of this one he said to me "Nice to see you, you always give me a hard time." ...In this meeting I only really asked what happened to the pitch and pushed back a little on the comms around the Bould stuff. In previous meetings I have pushed back a lot harder on various topics.

You have to give everyone a chance to ask questions and give them a chance to retort. Again in previous meetings, I have found myself jumping in quite a lot. It just wasn't possible this time, you have to be respectful of others that have attended. Made even harder now by certain people that have been added to the group.

I feel like the group is too bloated now to have proper conversations with CN and PM. It's become a fans forum. The first question about the AI GK was just a waste of time.

Finally, I had a chance to listen, and it was OK. Clearly, CN didn't appreciate the 'if the stewards don't check, how do you know?' Question. That was a definite body shot question, and I had to chuckle at it.

Just on the ticketing concessions, after listening to CN, it came across that due to abuse from away fans, they have ceased the concessions. Bit unfair.
Car Giant? 'No comment' I think we can all assume discussions have started.

I'm sure all the interesting discussions were in the 1 hour off the record.

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

Haha I promise solemnly it wasn't intended as such.

It seemed a pretty obvious question to me. They said the ticket concession was being misued, but couldn't put even a vague figure on it. He then volunteered that he was disappointed in the stewarding which doesn't police abuse of concessionary tickets. So... how do you know? It just seems like a really obvious question to me and I was surprised it got the catty response that it did.

There's something that doesn't ring true about this claim, to me anyway. And, look, if we don't push back on season ticket price rises then you can be sure they'll be running their finger down that price list thinking 'I wonder what we can get away with next year?' Get rid of the U23 concessions? Double the kids prices? Stick everybody's season ticket up £200? After all, nobody really said anything last time, apart from bloody Clive again who thinks the CEO of the company should be across the numbers.

Obviously some on here are very critical of Nourry and no one is more vocal than your good self Clive, and I do feel this forum is overly critical of him and potentially some are influenced by the narrative and ramming certain points home that he is not been greatly consistent on. This season ticket hike. Ok slightly dodgy but there are many many things that in my eyes, seemingly overwhelmingly not on this forum, but there has been progress.

Yes we know you dont like him as a person. But...

There are ways about him as a person that grate, but tbh I think he is doing a decent job overall at QPR. Let's not forget he has been appointed by the club. Many questions if there are issues should be directed at those, as they clearly rate him, but no one has thought to think of questioning Lee Hoos, Bhatia etc..

There is no doubt there is a model being followed and some lessons have been learned but overall, I personally feel as a club who have been in danger of relegation most seasons with one of the oldest squads in the championship. We do have some exciting young players who could improve and with a season behind them, with a couple more very clever transfers who knows where we could find ourselves.

This sarcastic narrative towards Nourry primarily from yourself Clive, respectfully suggest is actually becoming exceedingly dull. Yes let's all focus on him messing up on one question, and completely and totally ignore the positives of this new regime.

Am expecting many many down posts to this post but the narrative on here led by yourself Cluve which clearly influences many on here again respectfully is coming across sarcastic, nasty, unkind and rather personal.

Take the personalities out of it and look at the overall picture,. No one person is going to do everything well and again, let's not forget he is still a very young man himself but the club have been impressed by him and placed him in the firing line. He is an employee not the chief. Ask them a few more questions if you can but crikey two years ago we had Leon Balogun, Dion Sanderson, Ethan Laird, Taylor Richards, Tyler Roberts, no centre forwards that could score or create any goals, Andre Dozzell managed by Gareth Ainsworth. And our only attacking threat was Ilias Chair. We had a lulu warrior in to motivate our players but thats OK because it was Gazza, money of us. He is failing as a manager in league two now.

Now compare.

People on here have been lukewarm to Stephan. Maybe let's look at this and his influence on developing the likes of Kone, Madsen, Vale, Burrell, Morgan, Smyth and hopefully Ronnie and Mbengue.

Is let's just all focus on minimal season ticket increases in an inflationary economy. OK the concessions for under eights is strange, but come on people let's look at the overall picture.

Some that were at this meeting were criticising the Nourry fans he invited on the meeting. Maybe some realise where we were not so long ago and have actually been impressed but one poster actually said he invited some of his clones, contemporaries. Some can see the bigger picture.

The narrative on this forum is overwhelming anti Nourry and led undoubtedly by your good self. Its actually becoming quite personal and nasty and I have had enough of reading such nonsense.

That's awful and disgusting to do that and shows a mentality of a fanbase that should not be here.

Ask through the appropriate channels.

We have improved as a club in many many ways.

Accosting a guy and abusing him in the street. Bloke is on his leisure time, He is trying to do a job and thats it.

The ticket pricing is a concern, especially with the ongoing narrative around waiting list for season tickets. I don't mind my price going up £20 if U8s can go free or for a fiver, but to then just stop it all is a bit off. Definite own goal.

That really was an obvious question to ask which made his response all the more surprising. If you put costs up and throw figures around you better be prepared to back it up. Clearly he wasn't a Boy Scout in his youth.

I liked his answers regarding the DS, loans and giving youngsters minutes based on performance in training. That part I can see is joined up and the club deserve praise for that.

No I didn't i said he is in charge. Try to get questions to him in the appropriate way.

Being abusive to a man who is not at work just doing his day to day life outside his home is awful.

I cant really say anymore on here.

Well, you're entitled to your view, and to express it. All views are welcome here, anybody is free to register and post them.

I would refute pretty much everything you've said about me here. You've made some assumptions about what I think and feel and stated them as fact. You've no idea what I think of Christian Nourry as a person.

We have been scrupulously fair in our coverage, going out of our way to praise the club in a number of areas - this season's recruitment versus last season's, learning from the mistake of the behind closed doors pre-season and reversing that, getting the average age of the development squad down so you don't have the likes of Owens, Shodipo, Hamalainen hanging around into their mid 20s. I also agree, and have said, that the team is far better now than the shower under Beale/Critchley/Ainsworth - I've raved about us finally having proper strikers. I think we could easily go top ten next year with a few well placed additions.

We have also called them out when we think they're wrong, and on the season ticket pricing and the way it was communicated I think there are elements to be concerned about. They're going after people who can afford it the least, and demographics we need to be encouraging the most.

I do agree with you that it is nasty out there at the moment. There's an unpleasant atmosphere in the support base again, we're seeing rows between fans and fan groups. I hate all of that. Hate it. But I refute that asking perfectly reasonable questions of the club, or levelling fairly held opinions or criticism of them, is causing that.

I think he's done some good things, I think he's done some not so good things. He's young and he's learning (hopefully).

But as mentioned he could do better if he didn't have so much on his plate - let him be DoF and see how he gets on. Give the CEO role to a more experienced person.

Of course there is also an element of, you're only as good as the people you employ...

to be fair to Clive he was very critical of the mess we were in 2 years ago, Ainsworth, Beale, les etc. I don't think they were getting a free pass then and the new lot are getting criticism now.

Some of the stuff said about Nourry on here from a few posters is well over the top but some of the criticism of him is very fair and from what I've read Clive has been pretty fair on Nourry so far and tried to be balanced on him rather than going all in. He's neither the Messiah or an idiot as far as I can see.

For me I keep hearing how different everything is now but in reality it doesn't look that different to what we saw under les. We seem to be back where we were going into second season under Warbs. Made some good signings some good prospects but need to get the sales right and still feel a bad transfer window away from really struggling. What we do next will decide if he's as good or bad as some think he is

Well thats good to know.

But it did appear from listening to the meeting it was a lot about trying to catch Christian out which I felt was my overriding element listening to the meeting and I am not aware of how it was clearly as was not there in person either.

Yes I do also think that perhaps also these season ticket concession thing is an own goal but perhaps its Hoos and those above decision.

He has not have carte blanche on decisions and maybe it wasn't his actual choice. It could have been festered on him from above, as well. Which would explain a curt answer ie he can't totally say. He reports to his employers.

Yes and am glad that relationships between all towards Christian are conciliatory. That is good to know.

But yes I do concur the narrative is nasty and any issues its Nourry this and Nourry that but when all is well, no praise for the guy ,ie its nothing to do with him.

I for one am pleased he is here. In most areas we are greatly improving. The focus on developing players, the attempts to get to category one academy is all good.
And Cifuentes and Stephan have both been progressive appointments.

Yes there have been mistakes but the overall direction has been positive and progressive.

There is though sadly an anti Nourry narrative overall on here.

I can't understand it myself....

Very bizarre.

We seem to be entering the early days or the nourry empire , simialr to the early days of the paladni empire , fans are being split for certain purposes as they was in the paladini days why try and split a fan base ? wouldnt it be better if everyone was signing the same song ? thik clive is always fair in his questioning maybe others should try the same way of talking to nourry hoos whoever , it might leave less questions unanswered . some groups come across as being happy just being invited , what they look or are wanting to achive who knows .

Well, look, I am listening, I take on board what you're saying.

Everyone that works on this site has met up a couple of times already since the end of the season, and we'll do so again this weekend, talking about what next season looks like for LFW.

My overall thought is that we need to 'make it fun again'.

I do agree with you the overall atmosphere around the whole online fanbase at the moment is quite negative, quite adversarial, and it's very wearing. It's especially wearing on me, I haven't enjoyed the last 12 months at all.

So next season we're going to aim for a broader range of voices, more guest columns etc.
More of the funny, stuff. Bring back the Awaydays pieces.
More nostalgia, interviews with former players etc.
Interviews with well known famous fans etc.
So it's not just a website churning match reports and match previews with the same bloke pontificating two or three times a week.

We will still hold the club to account when we see fit, because I think that's the job of the site. But, I hear you, and others who've said similar, and we are working on it already so bear with me and we'll get there together.

I'm glad you rate him Numpty, but not sure why you find it "bizarre" that some people criticise him. If you exclude any alleged ITK stuff, at which I am privy to zero, I look from the outside and see someone who has overseen the removal of some proper people in a very strange way, persists with a medical department which has performed abysmally, delights in stats about young players but doesn't acknowledge that jacking off of cup competitions is somewhat of a downside, or that to get out of this league in the right direction we need experience too, has overseen a decent spending spree that would, on the face of it, appear to be a better squad but left us in 15th, has jacked up season ticket prices, patronises the intelligence of fans on issues like not revealing contract lengths, and - in my opinion - forced out the door one of the better managers we've had in recent times.

So, yes, I will criticise the man on all that. Abuse, no, criticism - yes.

“But it did appear from listening to the meeting it was a lot about trying to catch Christian out which I felt was my overriding element listening to the meeting and I am not aware of how it was clearly as was not there in person”

Hmmm
It becomes a very dangerous precedent set when fans asking simple questions is interpreted and fully relayed to others that it was just an excercise in tripping CN up.

I thought it was tame and certainly tame compared to yesteryear.
And that’s not a bad thing . We don’t need people bellowing at each other .
But this is going down a dangerous road where simple questions are frowned upon .
Becareful what you wish for.

I did a Myers-Briggs training thing once, where after 20 or so questions you pigeon hole someone into a specific personality type.
Analytical Introvert, that kind of thing...

Then in small teams you can see that those directly opposite personality types will unintendedly cause friction between themselves

So that green "Visionary" with his Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Judger will
normally find conflict with a red "creator" who looks for sense and facts.

It's pretty interesting and explained why I could never see eye to eye with a boss at the time.

Plus, I reckon everyone in the room was fed up after a long season, and probably Paul Morrisey stopping every five mins to say what could and couldn't be repeated

Look i am not going to do this to death. People are entitled to their opinions

Most of your criticisms are not looking at rhe bigger picture.

Two years ago Nourry came here but as said we go back two years we played awful, our play was worse than you see at the local playing fiellds

At time we were heading to league 2 with tne oldest squad in the division. Thats neen under Nourrys watch.

i find the angry narrative towrds him unsettling and bizarre yes.

It's not about catching Christian Nourry out, I think its very very important to call him out if he starts to traipse out anything like, we have 90% player availability, when anyone can see that half the first team are out injured.

This is the kind of nonsense that needs to be nipped in the bud, as when you have created a void of information, then people will start to fill it, so its vital that what you broadcast stands up to scrutiny.

There is nothing wrong with making mistakes and learning from them, and it sounds like CN was actually expressing that sentiment at times during this forum.

I also think its right that fans like Matt Winton are brought into the forum, in the same way that BBC Question Time tries to remain impartial by having guests from both sides of the political spectrum (and hopefully the audience too).

Spot on in the first line. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I want everyone to feel confident that they can express it here.

This site is getting dragged on social media this week and it breaks my heart having put so much into it for so long.

You, of all people, should know not to get overly affected by the fluff and nonsense of social media. This site is strong, vibrant and popular. Be proud of your work.
