thats kids for you. anyone else woke up to school holiday films every morning for 6 weeks or more, and knowing every word to the bloody film. goonies, son, 1987 when he was 4. secret garden, 1990, when she was 4.
As a kid during the Xmas holidays in the 70’s the BBC used to show films in the morning usually based around the same actor(S), one year it was Elvis and another year I remember was Jack Lemmon who became my favourite actor, and Some Like it Hot became my favourite film. Another year they dug out the old Flash Gordon series complete with hubcaps as flying saucers. Can’t beat the old TV days.

Gone off script here a bit, but I too love Some Like it Jot, but not as much as The Odd Couple!!

The 80's had all the best films, they were gritty and brilliant and didn't mind offending your sensibilities. Everything got watered down after that and became dog toffee.
Sexy Asian dwarves wanted.

We need to show more of these films so, people have an appreciation of the War effort that went in there and the sacrifices that were made by REAL heroes.
Also showing the Water Margins again would be nice :)

They seemed to be a staple on the BBC during the holidays - and usually a cue for me to go outside and 'do something less boring instead'.
Had a friend who wanted to be an actor and took me along once to a studio in Wardour St where they where making a CFI film, was set in the States and he was playing a very young confederate soldier, scenes set around the camps so just mainly tent scenes, never been so bored in my life, just shows how editing is so clever to link all the scenes shot together.
Not even sure it was ever released, but also remember how great we thought the CFI films were, mainly many child actors that were so much more relevant and beliveable to young enquiring minds to the stuff you usually saw on the big screen or tv.
