Perkins was clearly at fault for their first, but he was also the dominant player in midfield who constantly put us on the front foot in the best attacking display we've seen at Spotland for two seasons. Hendo & Clough in particular thrived from his rapid throughballs to their feet
Yep, an individual error from him, alongside a woeful series of misses by others that should have had the game won with ease, and yet you've highlighted his one error
We've spoken about getting the balance right. For me, Perkins is part of that balance
Edit: i would add, with two from Rathbone, Cannon, Camps, Morley and Adshead around him. It's not a case of him displacing youth, but rather finding the right combo to play alongside and eventually take over from him. None of those mentioned are quite ready yet for that dominant role

I genuinely wouldn’t even be displeased with this. We’d probably lose but it’d be fun to see the kids play with the joyful attacking flair they seem to possess in youth team matches. Adshead, Morley, Matheson, Tavares, Hoti, Hopper, Kisimba, Yonsian, I don’t even know where half of them play but throw them all in anyway.
