I thought we were losing about £1.2 million/ year, that will be increasing obviously. Just kick starting a new lottery would have been great, that hasn't materialised.

I think you would be a good person, being critical and having an enquiring mind to be invited into the minute workings of the club as a one-off "internal auditor". You could see for yourself where further costs could be cut and where we could possibly expand our income by asking questions directly to the people concerned. I know a lot of this is the remit for Murray but I am sure another pair of eyes, at no extra cost, would be welcomed.
You could report back to the fan base with your recommendations, confidentiality secure, obviously.

Jesus saves but Beasley scores off the rebound.

Thanks for having such confidence in me, it's appreciated. Taking everything at face value and not asking difficult questions is what contributed to this mess in the first place. You continue to soak everything up like a sponge if you want, i'll do the opposite, thank you. Trying to shut people down by telling them to join the board isn't something new, they did it on the bury forum and at public meetings just prior to them losing their club. It ended in tears, literally. If Simon Gauge personally invited me to attend every meeting with possible investors i would snap his hand off without even thinking about it, would you? I know plenty of others who would take up the offer also.

Yes I would take up the offer.

No, I wouldn't want to shut you up because I like your desire to get the very best for the club even if it may be perceived as unpalatable.

No, I don't soak everything up like a sponge and I too am a doubting Thomas.

Thought you’d have a reason. Regardless, that was a shocking thing to say and you have no idea how hard they work.

Regarding health, I’m actually worried that one trust board member in particular is putting in too much time and I hope it doesn’t affect theirs.

Your health doesn’t appear to stop you criticising them on here so why don’t you volunteer for a role that doesn’t require you to do anything physical. If you’ve got time to post shite on here then you’ve got time to do something for them you can do with internet access.

Which of the trust board members do you personally know?

What has been apparent in recent times is the attitude that suggestions where we can be better or ideas around trying something new seem now to be filed directly under ‘well it wouldn’t make much of a difference’.

The huge problem for the Trust now is convincing supporters how their efforts will make a difference. Whether that’s raising money as part of the Community Ownership Fund bid or any other ongoing projects.

A further illustration of how things should be comes in the form of the Trust’s own commitments to their members and the fanbase. Hopefully, the missing August newsletter will appear on their site in its entirety shortly to ensure that at least they are able to follow up with agreed, consistent communication when the club themselves may fall short.

The actions of today will be remembered tomorrow. Unfortunately we’ve already been told tomorrow will be a bit rubbish and it’s worrying how that and obvious incompetence has been allowed to become accepted.

But Mr Gauge did a little what have the new board ever done for us bit at the end of the Fans Forum, actually if it had been done in the style of 'What have the Romans ever done for us?' the response would have been interesting.
Any way we were told of these great achievements under their stewardship, of course don't look over there at the relegation to NL and money wasted on players (but how much of the failure on the pitch can be levelled at the BoD).

I may be being whooshed here, but that seems a very OTT response to someone offering a genuine solution to the club's problems?

It’s not even so much what has been done, and that can be debated forever and a day, it’s what we all want to do to make it better and how everyone can make a difference.

'Invited into the minute workings of the club as a one off internal auditor'...if you think i would be capable of doing that, or even invited in to do it, then yes I agree with you, i think you've been wooshed. 😃. We all have different skill sets, all of us. It's pretty obvious that as a club we aren't maximising revenue streams, free entrance to the recent Bradford game was the latest example. I've never know that happen before.

Indeed, what were the revenues from previous friendlies that enabled such a decision to be deemed a good idea when cash flow is so important?

Were the financial results from the day better than previous years to establish the risk of losing thousands of pounds of gate receipts the season ticket holders would have paid was worth taking?

Why am I asking these questions when you get the feeling nobody is that interested in providing the answers to explain decision making?

Why did we get the free vouchers with the Season Cards? Free beer and programmes etc. I can't remember if we had vouchers last season but if we didn't then that makes this years season tickets cheaper doesn't it? At a time when we are skint.

Feck me, reminds me of an an investors messageboard this. Some with their claws swinging like a bear investor, sticking the boot in on very single decision by the club. Market manipulation. It almost appears there's an agenda for some to try to profit from a decline in popularity, of these fan caretakers in charge working for free.
I get there's ways things can be run better and there's strong criticism to improve things - Great! but you can't doubt there is plenty of effort on this forum to look for dirt on the club and twisting club decisions to look sh1te ones, to suit some agenda. When purchasing were supporters asked what were the factors that influenced them buying/renewing?

Was there a simple questionnaire which could establish the success of things like vouchers/prize freeze against ‘buying because I always do’?

Why am I asking these questions when you get the feeling nobody is that interested in providing the answers to explain decision making?

Why are we putting more effort into thinking about these things that ultimately benefit the football club to run more effectively than we are able to see happening at the club?

Hopefully that’s not aimed at those who ultimately want the best for the football club and have asked similar questions of why we aren’t able to run more effectively for years, over various regimes?

The vouchers are intended to stimulate buying if they had offered a free half pint , most would have paid the difference to get a pint. I spent many years as a bushy - tailed salesman selling raft loads of products that had vouchers on them and they definately do encourage product trial and upgrading to bigger packets, the real trick is to get the brewery to pay for them, maybe thats what they have done? Similarly with discounts on shirts
... Now how about putting a voucher through the door of every house in Rochdale? Match ticket for Kid and parent for £10 quid... Tuesday is footy at Spotland night £5 per ticket? Give everyone who uses a voucher another one for another game...get their email addresses ... start to tempt them..RCD will deliver a leaflet through 20,000 doors for £700, make that a voucher...20,000 A5 leaflets cost £250 call it £1000 with delivery. Or 100 tickets at £10 each if you sell 200 its paid for itself and the next one.

It's both fantastic and sad to see what people who frequent this forum have to offer to the club. And would willingly offer for absolutely no charge. Yet the club seems unwilling to tap into it.

Within a group of 1500 - 2000 people you're going to get people with expertise from many sectors/trades/businesses.
