BREAKING: #Rochdale AFC have secured the season-long loan of highly-rated #Manchester City centre back Yeboah Amankwah (@yeboahamakwah5). Looks like the deal was done last week, as Yeboah retweeted Dale’s fantastic win at Huddersfield on Saturday 👍 pic.twitter.com/opp1E7uuoU
Interesting that he's a CB. Not a position any of us would say is of immediate concern but quality players - whichever position they play - are welcome.
Does it suggest a shift of formation to a back three? Only BBM knows.

'the seventeen-year-old takes a modern approach to the defensive side of the game and is as comfortable on the ball as he is when it comes to shutting down opposition forwards.'

I would say you need four competent centre half’s in any half decent squad. I don’t believe it would be fair to class Keohane as effective CB cover as we really need him on his fullback game this season.
Fingers crossed for a LB & 2 strikers this week.

Good news if confirmed. Based on last season it didn't seem McShane could manage midweek matches after playing on the Saturday plus he is quite injury prone. A fourth centre back very much needed in my view.

That a big ask to expect a 19 year old to be better than 15 year veteran at this stage. Personally would be delighted if here were as good as JM. Especially if we did deploy a back three. Welcome and good luck. Make the most of an excellent opportunity to learn plenty from your fellow centre backs. Wonder if he is left footed as I agree at 19he may offer more as a covering left back than Jim ever has.

Hopefully a bit better than the last player we had with that surname!
I was thinking about our first Amankwah and, admittedly, he was no world beater. I remember his first appearance for us, coming on as sub in some god-awful Eyre match where we were being given the run around. We were seriously dire and I actually felt sorry for him. He must have wondered what he had let himself in for. However, to his credit, he actually tried. The only player on the pitch that night that did. Eyre didn’t last much longer after that. Anyone remember which game it was?
The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.
