Transfer window dilemma
by this_charming_man at 20:14 23 Jul 2019
With the transfer window shutting in 2 1/2 weeks time and us caught between a rock and a hard place with needing to shift players before we can bring new ones in we have an issue in that we are running out of time to buy players but clubs In Europe can buy from the premier league up until the 2nd of September in some leagues, this means that buying clubs in Europe are under no pressure to sign anyone just yet whereas we are to sell!
So do we gamble that we can sell players for higher fees towards the end of the window or trying and give buying clubs and incentive by lowering our asking price to shift them on? People that keep grizzlies thst we haven’t signed him, him and him yet have no undersnding of the incredibly difficult position we are In.
The rise of Boris Johnson
by Capt_Koons at 19:38 23 Jul 2019
was only improbable if you were under the delusion that we live in a meritocracy. We don’t. This is the class system in action – propelling confident, incompetent, posh tw8ts to the top regardless of their abilities, record or character. Taking back control the Eton way.
Who's going to win the league
by kingslandstand1 at 17:29 23 Jul 2019
Re-phrase that (cos it'll be City again)
Who do you WANT to win (sorry about the ASIS typing).
I'd like to see Frankie do it at Chelsea. It could do wonders for the younger players he has to use and potentially for England, and he won't be able to buy the league as others have done (apparently)
Just as long as it's not the red side of Scouse land
Where is Ward-Prowse?
by Saintsforeverj at 15:36 23 Jul 2019
I could be missing something obvious here but where is James Ward-Prowse? I have seen pictures and squad lists which include every other player apart from those that are accounted for. I did hear a rumour that he is leaving for big money so that RH can bring more players in. Has anyone else seen him in pictures or heard of him?

NOW! Just watch the E.U?
by A_Saint_in_Stoke at 12:45 23 Jul 2019
They say - Now more agreement negotiations.
We will now have a negotiation team - " with motivation and "balls " to stand up for everyone in the UK - instead of having a weak-willed pathetic Robins team - that rolled over on every situation!
Watch now ............ how The E.U. will Completly change their opinions - and will now be willing to actually negotiate - instead of dictating!!
I great article to read about Ralph
by areasix at 07:48 23 Jul 2019
If you have 10 mins read an article that has been put up on newsnow or on the website these football times.com. How Ralph inspired Ingolstadt by Luke Osman it’s a great read as long as when he leaves , poached we don’t end up like them. It gives an insight of how he developed a struggling team. Well worth a read.
Who’s going down this season?
by PatfromPoole at 06:31 23 Jul 2019
I think Villa and Norwich will be OK. I don’t think either are particularly good, but they both have decent managers and the clubs aren’t on the slide in the way that Brighton and Newcastle are.
Saints should have enough about them to finish above all 5 of those teams. Not sure who else we might finish above though. Possibly Boscombe.
Football related violence
by Happy_Jack at 20:56 22 Jul 2019
I realise we now live in enlightened times and this sort of topic is frowned upon but what was the worst (or best depending on your viewpoint) naughtiness you witnessed at The Dell or St Mary's or town during your time?
by Happy_Jack at 19:55 22 Jul 2019
Do you have any? I have the club crest adorning my left leg but that's as far as I've gone.
Is Lemina's Big Club Move Just A Pipe Dream
by LoisDeem at 15:23:47
Along with a lot of other wishful thinking recently, I'm sure I heard the following:
"This time it's not about the money, I owe this club everything, Southampton FC launched me properly in football, they had no option but to sell me, in order to survive. Now I am in a position to give something back, in the only way I can, whilst fulfilling a holistic challenge unlike any other at the same time. To prove it's not about the money, I would obviously not wish to break or unsettle the club wage structure as it stands, which is why I'm so pleased the club, realising the appeal, approached me in the first place. I am after all, first and foremost a Saint".

Set to have a medical today at AZ. THe deal was not done 3 weeks ago unlike false prophets informed you. It will be completed in the next 24 hours. As those that know me personally can vouch, I am currently on Holland on BUSINESS. Coincidence?? i'll let you be the judge of that.
Tommy Robinson and everything
by Dominic_Oliver at 13:55 22 Jul 2019
It's pretty clear from what my pals at uni say and that is that their lecturers are unanimous that Tommy Robinson aka Steven John Lennon is an absolute oik and bounder and is definitely the leader of an underground nazi gang who eat babies of colour (not jelly babies – real ones!). Additionally my Pa says we will have to cut back to one au pair and one gardener if this Brexit madness continues. I hope all the thickos who voted Leave saw that 3 metre blimp of Bojo – whammo! NOW they get it.
Only two more weeks in Tuskers then back to the barricades.
All the best Dom.
Saints V Preston The Verdict
by bstokesaint at 12:38:51
It’s always nice to win games, but as others have pointed out PNE are really just a fitness test. I would expect Hoedt and Stephens to be able to cope with them. I think we’ve already seen enough from both to know that neither can cope with the PL’s elite. The longer we go on without getting in quality replacements the more I worry about the coming season. The fact that we’ve failed to adequately strengthen the past couple of seasons too doesn’t make me feel too confident this one will be any different. Ralph may be the next level up from a managerial perspective, but he needs the right kind of ‘tools’ to work with. Or he’ll be off.
