Sad news again

Not excusing any of his behaviour but he was/is a legendary figure in the game of golf, such a shame it still all falling apart

This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."

No sympathy AT ALL for multi millionaires who are too feckin stupid to take a taxi or hire a chauffeur when they are going out for a night on the pop. Same with professional footballers who do it.

Yeah it could have been a lot, lot worse. Pampered rich kid who was good once for hitting a little ball with a stick into a hole, cheated on his Mrs and when she refused to tolerate being publicly humiliated, retaining her dignity by leaving him, he very publicly went to pieces and spent the rest of his life crying into his beer. Boo hoo. Man up and get on with it. Happens to millions. No sympathy.

You watch him worm his way back via crocodile tears.

A horrible Kent and an irrelevance now in his sport as the top 10 golfers are far more competitive now, far fitter than him, and the rest seem far more into the sport rather than using it to promote themselves.

agree with all of the above

just a shame that someone who should be remembered as the player that changed how golf was looked at will be remembered as someone who fu**ed it up massively in virtually every area of his life

I feel sorry for him.

His PR team are already rolling into gear to save whatever is left of his reputation now with his announcement that alcohol had nothing to do with it but a cocktail of 'prescription drugs' were to blame. Even if true, what's the difference? Oh yes, he isn't to blame, as he didn't do it deliberately blah blah blah.
It'll all come out in the wash....apart from the fact that he's finished and he knows it.

More details:

* Police found him asleep at the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz stopped in the right lane of the road.
* The car was running, the brake lights were on, and the right blinker was flashing.
* His breathalyzer test was negative, indicating that his PR team is telling the truth that it didn't involve alcohol.
* The cops asked him to recite the alphabet backwards (a common field sobriety test over here). When asked if he understood the directions, Tiger said "yes, recite entire National Anthem backward."

No need to be bitter though. If he was poor the likes of Hereford would by crying out for someone to help him, but no, because he's rich and shags porn stars he can f*ck off.

That can't be right though, the people of PS have spoken. He needs to be hung, drawn and quartered, forthwith.

As for reciting the alphabet backwards, i couldn't do that stone cold sober ffs.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

There we go. Bad reaction to prescription meds so pulls over. Reasonable. Not a drop of alcohol in system.

It's not reasonable to recite the alphabet backwards, just a jerk move.

Extremely harsh, Yossarian.

First off, I'm no fan of Tiger and think he's an overall scummy guy. But most of what you said is flat-out false, and way off-base.

He was not a "pampered rich kid", although he was raised comfortably. His father grew up dirt poor, helped break the color barrier in college baseball, served two tours in Vietnam, and retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Army. He then became a defense contractor (ffukk him for that) and raised his son, often harshly, to be a golfer from birth. Tiger has always been a prodigy but his father was still unrelenting, much like Michael Jackson's. I believe many of their problems in adulthood stem from their extremely restrictive upbringings. Not a justification, mind you.

He's been rich and famous for a long time because of his own ability, and rich and famous people don't play by the same rules as everyone else. Just a fact. Trust me, Tiger's infidelity network was rather complex and extremely ffukkedd up, but that's the norm for them. Michael Jordan famously told him about this. His wife knew what she was getting into, and she was a FFUKKINGG NANNY before him. That broken heart got her £100m or more. I'd say that's a pretty ffukkingg good deal. She's moved on, and I'm guessing she's much happier now. No tears for her, either.

Tiger is not a sympathetic figure by any stretch of the imagination, but at least call it like it is. Ultimately, he's human just like you and I and sshitt happens. That's the story here.

Who's bitter? You and several others are taking this thread into all sorts of speculative directions and missing the original point.

He was a great golfer, his private life is a disaster, maybe he does need some kind of help, all of that may be true, but the fact remains that he is immensely wealthy and could easily, as Perch said, have picked up a phone and hired a chauffeur without batting an eyelid. Instead he chooses to get behind the wheel of a car when incapacitated and put other people's lives at risk. I wonder if you'd have been so understanding if he'd run you or one of your family over.

Hang me and spit at my tomb but I had no problem bagging and locking up drink drivers. Enjoyed it.

Many lost their jobs as a result ,which was good.

Those injured or killed by drink drivers don't have that choice
