OUT WITH A DEAL EATING OUR CAKE AND LOVING IT suck it up remoaners
And like a typical anti democracy remoaner he decided the will of the people should be ignored the minute the democratic result was in total fecking hypocrite 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Despite it being voted in to law by the commons the spineless two faced remoaner MPs have totally abandoned any morals and decided to ignore the will of the British people.
It will be remembered and no election or referendum will ever be the same again in this country.
The one thing that will come is a massive surge in the popularity of UKIP or a similar party in the future who stand for the 52%.
Happy Days.

There is an obvious reason why leavers have not changed their minds.. and it isn't sovereignty, taking back control, 350million, or wonderful new trade deals.
It's because they are too stubborn to admit they were wrong.

hasn’t been a single poll in almost a year now with Leave lead. 70 polls since GE17 show only two (+1) leads, 5 Ties, 63 Remain leads, recent avg plus 7/8 remain.
Hypothesis: General Election 2017 was a structural break in polled support for Remain/Leave

He whipped the party to vote for it yesterday and voted for it himself

are you just pretending that Barry Gardiner didn't say what he said? Or that his spokesperson then said that there would be no referendum on a Labour deal if we won the election?
Good luck winning the election without remainers pal!

Then you will have the Tories in charge of it? Can you see no room for problems as far as that’s concerned ,We need a general election to sort this mess out. Not allowing the Tories to have their hands on the steering wheel of whatever happens next.
Even May must realise her deal is dead in its current form now.
Today, every single little weasel that may turn did turn. Johnson, Raab, Rees Mogg. Let’s hope the public see through them and their ‘principles’ for once and for all.
And they still lost by a mile. (As an aside, how odd is it that the government losing a vote on its main policy by 58 isn’t seen as anything out of the ordinary anymore, and instead, in some circles is seen as ‘ooh, getting better’).
There has to be a different way forward - what should have happened three years ago - a cross party consensus on a new path (probably get some way there on Monday), attached to a confirmatory vote (I’m not a great fan of a second referendum, but I think it’s inevitable now).
No deal is too damaging to the country to allow it to stay as a possibility. So it must be a consensus deal or remain.

A general election won’t solve anything.
In the same way as Brexit shouldn’t be used to further the Tory cause, it also shouldn’t be used to further Corbyn’s cause. Both are equally unprincipled and shameful.
A cross party decision is needed.

Which labour asked for at the beginning May said she’d do it her way

I get told quite a lot by people on the far left that Labour deserved to lose in 2015 because it was a proponent of neoliberal, Tory-lite policies. The Trade Union and Socialist Coalition stood a candidate who didn't even bother to turn up to the election count to see his 100 odd votes come in. We then lost my home seat by an agonizing 27 votes, and as a result we were lumped with an incompetent shoveller of Tory austerity for 2 years.
Face me with the choice between a Tory Brexit and a Corbynite Tory Lite Brexit and see what happens. It'l be a hard lesson that you'll learn too.

Oh, I can go a lot deeper than a simple shared state of being peeved, my friend, but this (Planet Swans) is a rather flimsy platform for discussion of profound equivalences and the nuances of universal brotherhood, don't ya think? I'm afraid I regard it as more of a screen to flash up sometimes subliminal images of bigotry (spelling Muslim the way that is offensive to Muslims, for example) and for less subliminal instances of wordplay and faux outrage. There are too, those among us who use the site to flaunt esoteric knowledge of history, literature and accountancy. I am not entirely innocent in this regard either, I admit.
Is it not the case that while they bore each other rigid with talk of long balls and offside traps on the other section of this site we who gather here do so to admire the plumage of Minerva’s Owl?
PS: “...history, literature and accountancy.”
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

I agree but would May? Faced by a choice between a customs union and GE she might see the latter as the lesser of two evils.

Like it. Where would we be without classical references, eh? I'm too exhausted by recent events to summon up any Sophocles or Virgil but I do recall Mencken's observation that democracy is the pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance. Very pertinent in Westmnster these days.

Rather than a GE which many say will solve nothing or the divisiveness of another referendum, if only there was some nationwide vote taking place, say at the end of May which could be used to gauge public opinion.

I love Mencken! Reading him at break-time has managed to get me through many a dreary night shift.

And the fact you have an avatar showing an individual matching the exact description of Howard Devoto adds even further intrigue to the mix!

Looking at some of their members, I'd say not. They lack any semblance of a "heavyweight" politician.
I respect the way Berger has dealt with the anti-semitism thrown at her, but when the guy wanting to lead is Chuka "Office editted wikipedia entry to say I was often called 'Britain's Barack Obama'" Umunna I don't quite think we should annoint it as groundbreaking.
SDP they are not.
Very early days yet. Labour deselections/ a supine, hopeless Corbyn/ Boris as PM/ ERG ...a genuine centre party attracting the right of Labour and the left of the Tory party could yet make things interesting. Would be very different to SDP MkII.
Leaders? May, Gove, Boris, Corbyn, McDonnell? They could hardly do worse than that shower of shitè.
