Scientifically speaking, a plant-based food is not a sentient being, does not have an innate, emotional inclination to avoid bodily harm or death (in the same way that animals do), does not have a nervous system, and, therefore, is not even designed to process the sensation of pain. They do have chemical reactions that react to stimuli however but its far from the suffering you would inflict on an animal if you hurt it.

Exactly we ate meat in survival situations. But our body isnt equipped to adequately deal with it, hence it makes us sick.
We are not in a survival situation now, so there is no need to eat it. No need to make ourselves sick and no need to inflict this suffering on others.

All meat eaters have natural adaptations to be able to kill and eat other animals, claws, strong sharp teeth, with the instincts to want to devour an animal in its whole state and also the anatomy to thrive off that food source.
We have to make weapons to kill them because we have nothing natural that can, we have to do it all behind closed doors because we dont like the sight of it, we have to prepare it and cook it so it doesnt harm us immediately and our bodies get sick as they are not adapted to process it effectively (look at the length of colon between herbivores and meat eaters) - this is why meat eaters, who have the body characteristics of herbivores, have a much larger risk of getting colon cancer.

That is just straight out of the Highjack book of debate, "if stuck - say anything".
Again, if you were supposed to eat meat then it would not be harmful and your body would be perfectly designed to process it. Neither of those things are the case.
Man has always a eaten meat to survive, but doing something to survive and doing it because it is the best source of food are massivlly different. Hence why meat based diets mean the person on average lives a much unhealthier and shorter life. [Post edited 13 Dec 2017 16:49]
