Hopefully Potter has a better memory than me and remembers that Grimes is still, I think, fit. So, I'll replace CCV for him. Dhanda's the only one left who's played in the 10 role, even if only for 20 mins or so at Sheff Utd, unless we go old school with Routledge ... which to be honest I wouldn't be averse to, if his head is screwed on properly. | |

We've still got plenty of options so the chance to stick the knife in won't wash I'm afraid.
We also don't need to go 4231 up there.

Well, It's not Potter's fault that he hasn't been convincing whenever he was given a chance.
I would say, It's a kick in the teeth for the club, giving a new contract (which I assume it's a professional championship one) if he won't step in.

He hasn't been given chances though, has he. Maric somehow got the nod in the cup last season despite being half the player. Injured early in preseason which kept him from the tour.
Was decent against Palace even if he didn't stand out as much as James & Dhanda. Now that Celina's injured and Dhanda had a 'mare he's the next option. Was rested on the weekend (along with Harries) probably just for this sort of situation. Potter knew he'd be without Carroll & Fer till Saturday. | | | |

Loving the irony.
We're having to either play a right back in midfield, or a centre half. Or both if Grimes is also out. Not just as a one-off either as it'll be the third game running Naughton will turn up there. Plenty of options?
Play 3 at the back, and it makes it even more important there is a solid presence in central midfield.
The situation was always likely. We're dependent on the likes of VdH, Fer and McBurnie staying fit. If any of the three gets injured we've not got adequate cover. Not news of course, and was obviously why Potter wanted Woods in. | |
