Birch. Who is likely to be on £40k a week himself. Laughing at having a transfer pot.
Hilarious. Not.

You seriously think that Birch is likely to be on anywhere near £2m a year?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

The decision not to sign him BEFORE the 2016 Euros after which he went onto picked in the team of the tournament was nothing short of criminal.

All for cautious spending but the signing of Joe Allen at that point was as much as a sure thing signing as you could ever wish to hope for.

This^

If anyone thinks we are going to buy Joe Allen they live in cuckoo land

His weekly wage is probably more than our January transfer budget.

We haven't got a budget, that's the problem.

OK I've changed it.

Some of you lot behave like he’s the best midfielder of all time.

He’s gone. He couldn’t wait to leave for a better wage. He’s not coming back. Get over it.

Couldn't wait to leave for a better wage?

He was offered a contract by Liverpool Football Club. There isn't a single Swansea player or supporter who would have done any different.

I don’t think the poster you’re replying to is very bright.

If he loved Swansea so much he’d push for a move here. He’s not arsed.

In your head he loves SCFC. He loves money more, trust me.

He did want to come back here for a pay cut.

We wouldn't pay the transfer fee. This is all well documented. Do some research.

It was a rumour. There are no hard facts.

My point remains the same: we need to stop obsessing over the Welsh Chavi and look forward, not backwards. It’s not 2011 anymore.

Unless he’s on a free with no signing on fee and happy to play for £8.50 per hour we’ve got no chance under the yanks

There are facts. It's stated by Allen himself and also Huw Jenkins that he wanted to come back in print and voice.

As I said, do some research.

I never disputed the point you've made lastly. Unless we get promoted, he's not coming back, Stoke aren't going to give him to us for free

You haven’t got the faintest idea what’s in my head so don’t pretend you know what other people are thinking.

Oh, and where did I say that he loves Swansea so much? I didn’t so don’t make things up about what I said.

Being realistic there's absolutely no chance of Joe Allen signing any time soon.
We may have no transfer budget but our extensive new scouting team should be able to identify a decent centre mid loan signing shirley?

I wouldn’t want him anyway. He’s nowhere as good as some of you make out.

Joe Allen is 29 years of age, his 4 year contract extension at Stoke will take him up to 32/33, his current market on Transfermarkt (which tends to be quite accurate) is £7m, his wages are reported as being circa £50k per week. Over the course of us current contract he will arm something like £10m, as much as he’d like to come back I can’t see him forsaking that amount of wedge.

He’s a cracking player and the kind of player the club needs, (he was immense for Wales last Tuesday) but it isn’t going to happen, I reckon the only place he will go is back to the Premier League.
