| So much for cheering the NHS 14:24 - Apr 7 with 5779 views | Lohengrin | You’ve all seen the parade of parliamentary charlatans wearing their NHS lapel pins, you’ll have all seen the rainbows in front windows, heard or taken part in the applause. Behind the showy facade staff were told this morning that their Bank Holiday pay rates have been cut. Nothing quite like the thanks of a grateful nation, is there? | |

| So much for cheering the NHS on 18:32 - Apr 7 by PentyrchJack | The treatment of nurses is an absolute disgrace and these professionals have seen their pay and conditions go backwards over many years as they were told they had to take the burden of austerity. My wife is a front line NHS professional and I have given her PPE from my own business (engineering and construction) as they have run out in the hospital or are having to reuse disposable PPE. |
I hesitate to ask which health board that is. My wife is currently on suspension until Occy health and HR decide what to do, it's largely because of my status (shielded) and our own persoan; circumstances but she has been getting messages from her colleagues and they are very worried. It's spooked her too. I can't imagine what the medical staff are going through.

I can't say Catallus which Trust but it isn't ABM. The number of staff testing positive is astonishing. The mass testing of NHS staff is aimed at getting them back to work as quickly as possible which is admirable although you may have seen that Aneurin Bevan Trust cocked up the results and staff who tested positive were told otherwise and went back to work.

To think there were people, organisations, websites who were claiming there was an over reaction to this and it wasn't that bad. Look at this nonsense that came in an email, lord knows how they got my email, https://unredacted.co.uk/2020/ Seems to me it's worse than expected.

My wife works for Swansea bay and the number of staff (of those tested) testing positive was something like 27% - astonishing. She has an issue with the new type of FFP3 mask not fitting because it too big. In Spite of this she is being sent back for FIT testing. She is dumbfounded saying how is her face going to grow over the weekend. The morale as not as good as the media are making out.

Most government employees are contractually obligated to avoid doing so. I'd imagine that this is more of a reminder than a new instruction.

Daughter is a district nurse. One of her colleagues whom she'd been in contact with had symptoms last week and went off work and has since tested positive. Meanwhile, daughter and the other nurses still have to go to work and visit mostly elderly patients, but all patients are in need. She's self-isolating in her bedroom in case she's positive and passes it on to us but is still expected to see "at risk" patients. It's disgraceful. Thankfully we're on day 10 and none of the nurses have shown any symptoms.

Try blaming the NHS beauracrats for stopping NHS staff from speaking out. Boris is in hospital and has been for a week. Glad he is getting better, would rather him in charge than CORBYN. [Post edited 9 Apr 2020 22:39]

I think that there were around 290 confirmed positive results for SBUHB staff on Wednesday. 37% of just short of 800 tested staff.

And who do you think the NHS bureaucrats are taking their orders off? As for having Boris in charge rather than Corbyn, I wonder if you'll be saying that in two weeks' time when the UK is the worst hit country in Europe thanks to the ineptitude of this shower of sh1t government? Of course you will, being a Tory brown noser. Personally I think Norman Wisdom could have done a better job.

I bought a Norman Wisdom box set a few years ago - brilliant guy for laughter (not enough of that in the world). I may have time to watch the fkr soon. Hope you are keeping safe and well mwsh. Should've included you and your good lady in past ticket exchange meeting, outside Railway.

In Spain the lockdown is very strict and being policed rigorously. I was stopped at a police checkpoint in the supermarket car park yesterday FFS! They are checking that shoppers are local, not holiday makers from other parts of Spain. Like every country, we're all wondering how we're going to come out of it.

His cat, of all things, had wandered out on to the street and he had gone to get it and the police were there is seconds (yes, perhaps by coincidence) but he said it is very strict. the shops are fully stocked though and open from 9 till 7 pm.
