Go for it

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Spent many an evening in CJ's. We used to have afters with the owner, Rodger. Deaf Aid Dick was usually there on a Sunday 1988-91, I moved out of Mumbles in 91.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

We used to go when we were teenagers. 1982/83 ish as 16 year olds.

Always accompanied by a trip to that surfie type shop that sold Harrington jackets just further up to look at t-shirts we couldn’t afford.

Yeah, there were about 10 of us used to go in the early 80s all in our mid 20s. Although I think we went to Greens more often.

Also would treat ourselves to a Christmas do at Fairyhill. Loved the atmosphere and grounds of that place, in winter by the log fire with pre meal drinks and crispy cockles. Gutted when it became a wedding venue.

Oh to be young and have lots of friends with the world at your feet. Oh to go out at all nowadays, or just not fall down your own garden steps :)

Fairyhill was great when Kate Cole was there.

Surprised no one’s mentioned the Pant-y-Gwydr.
I recommended it to a very well connected mate who’s eaten at more Michelin-starred restaurants than I’ve had takeaway kebabs and he raved about it. Rated it ‘as good as anywhere in Paris’, where he has a flat.

Food was not always outstanding at Fairyhill but usually decent. Obviously not as qualified as your mate to comment, but certainly been a few times to Pant-Y-Gwydr and found the food excellent.

To be honest we are tight as, so love an Orange? 2 meals for a tenner at Pizza Express with a nice glass of wine. In good company though Seen Ash and Michu there, embarrassingly they know us really well (the staff not Michu and Ash) but they are really lovely (the staff and Michu)

I know where you mean tho the name escapes me. In 82/83 my budget would only have got me to Covelli's chip shop! I was 15.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

CJ encouraged folk to dance on their chairs. He opened The Spotted Handkerchief a bit later then came into town. Had a lot of fun chair dancing.

That’s part of the dining experience I hated! I just wanted to eat, not get on a chair and play air guitar. Put me off it actually.

That's it, I was never a surfie. Grew up in Mumbles and rarely went to the beach, if I wasn't playing football I was cycling somewhere, until I discovered beer!

South Wales Transport Club, a lovely ham bap behind the bar every so often.

There was a lovely cafe near it circa 1998 called Sgt.Peppers , they did amazingly huge omelettes.
