Me and my mates directly behind the goal that Tosh header. As wide eyed 14yr olds waving our flags.
Happy days.

Tosh was already the manager.

Future players, Dai Dracula, Leighton James, Leighton Phillips?

Can't get the fourth player. Tosh, Curt, Rob

Can't think who the 4th player was. Did we have John Mahoney by then? Or was he a future one.

At least two future assistant managers as well.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Leighton James isn't playing.

Leighton Phillips already playing for us ... So he's your 4th starter.

Was a good watch, good quality play.

Thought that was a better game than the 1-0 v England in '84 they showed 2 weeks ago.

Totally agreed.

Curt was excellent playing off the Tosh.

The crowd singing Hymns and Arias at Onion Park.
‘Argentina, Argentina’ being chanted the year after the brilliant Hand of God goal.

That cheating tw@@t Joe Jordon getting the treatment.

Such a shame these fixtures are no longer played.
Tradition binned as England felt it was holding them back.
How many World Cups or Euro’s have they won since, i wonder ?

Really enjoyed watching this back earlier

A good win against a strong looking Scotland team including Hansen Dalglish Souness Hartford Jordan Wark Graham Gray etc

Still can't work out how the Wales team set up that day. It seemed that Curtis Toshack and R James were all up front but none playing wide? And the midfield three of Yorath Flynn Mahoney all seemed to playing in the centre? Whatever it was it worked. Luck or ingenious I'm unsure.

Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day

I thought the same.

Mike Smith certainly delivered a great result.

Tosh took his chances so well, the perfect hat-trick.

The Argentina chant was directed towards the Scots fans because of thier calamitous campaign in the 78 World Cup. You must remember Andy Cameron's World Cup song proclaiming they were going to win the Word Cup surely 🤣

Maradona's hand of god goal was in 81, four years later

Have to say too, the Bob Bank didn't stop singing from the off.

Hardly heard the sweaty socks all game

My aunty and uncle lived around the corner from John Mahoney. I can remember collecting cockles off West Cross beach on an incoming tide before cooking them and selling them on at 10p a cup to the neighbours which I thought was a bargain. Mrs Mahoney didn't buy any. Got to admit that I was nervous knocking on his door hoping that he'd answer but scared at the same time. This was John Mahoney for gawds sake. He was like a god to me at the time.

I see and it makes sense now.
86 was indeed after 78 .... 😂👍
Both some time ago now ....

Yes i remember the hype and the failure of 1978.

Appatently some Scots fans enquired about going to Argentina in a submarine in case it was cheaper.
