Cricket I'd rather watch Eastenders and I'll never watch Eastenders.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

This the kind of thread where everyone who’s not as old as some of the old farts here get guffawed at for choosing different players by the sixty somethings who think old is automatically best.

This is why I'm not participating.

I can do without the howls of derision when I add Steve Barwick to my bowling attack.

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.
Poll: Celtic and Rangers should be fast tracked into the Championship ASAP

Difficult task and will all be about opinions but tried to get a balanced team, especially in relation to spin bowling.

Wasn't he just the most haphazard fielder

And he akway looked ill.

And he looked as if he'd been dragged away from a marathon fag smoking session.

Benson And Hedges were sponsors no wonder he chose cricket!!

Watch out mind he's a mate of Darran

Basil changed his action to prolong his career went from fast medium to bowling cutters

Surprised more bowlers don't think of doing that to get a longer career

I remember Basil bowling 40 odd overs unchanged for Glamorgan in a championship match some going that

Apparently Archer isn't a bad spinner in the nets

Cannonball Taffy O’Jones.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

The criteria was the best you've seen live.

He was fantastic for Glammy and would have had more caps if he'd played for a more fashionable county.
Steve James was very good but Hugh slightly better in my opinion.

Great openers but Alan Jones was better than both of them.

Alan retired when I was very young so I didn't see him but yes I've been told umpteen times he should have played many times for England.

I saw Alan Jones play lots of times in the 1960s and 1970s as I went to every Glamorgan game. He was a great player and in my opinion, as said by a previous poster, better than Morris and James. One of the best players of genuine fast bowling I have ever seen. Sadly, playing for Glamorgan did not help. He also was up against two very fine openers in Boycottt and John Edrich but he was certainly better than Brian Luckhurst and Dennis Amiss who had a much fairer crack of the whip than Alan did.
