...her crime? Demanding that we discuss race in this country based on facts, stats and what the law says. She believes, as I do, that this country is not a racist country and fares very well when measured against other countries on any analysis of the facts. Mirza has stated that the claims of some that this country has institutional racism can be attributed to their 'perception'.
This rational analysis of course now makes her one of those 'brown racists' or something. We, who remain rational, must stand firm and not allow this person to be bullied from her job. It only takes the silence of good men to allow all sorts of evil to be unleashed.
That is the modern problem. It doesn't matter if a comment is in no way meant to be racist, if any person percieves it as such it is deemed racist.
I have a friend called Nigel but we all call him Nigs, if we're out and someone calls him by that nicname and a nearby black man takes offence because his perception is he's been called the N word, is it racist? Or is it just an awful misunderstanding?
And yes, I really do have a friend we call Nigs.
What a hideous example, I implore you to keep reading it back to yourself until the penny drops, but that would require the will for it to do so.
There are no black individuals patrolling your conversations, in order to be offended. Stop enabling the circle.

Any incident/crime which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a person's race or perceived race.

Any incident/crime which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice based on a person's religion or perceived religion.
The law shouldn’t be based on perception, or how “any other person” feels. There must be evidence, not some arbitrary feeling.
The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

I don't think anyone is patrolling my conversations, have you never overheard a comment other people have made? Have you never heard something and thought hang on?
Try answering the question, yes or no, if that happened would it make me racist?
Not sure I would want to live in a Country that says it is not racist but bans all free speech that does not conform to it's version of the truth. Reminds me too much of USSR, China, Cambodia and several gulf states.
1. It is a racist society/country - just look who is leading it. 2. Freedom of speech is a fallacy, we have freedom of expression which is being abused on a daily basis. 3. If you don’t like it, move to Thailand with all the other nonces
Catty is the same as Darran, only questions one side, with the token "All racism is bad" thrown into the paragraphs somewhere.
Oh and he's obsessed with wanting to be called a racist.
Only questions one side? Have I not said that racism is wrong, that all the violence by whichever side is wrong? I don't really need to question the EDL, Tommy Robinson or their ilk because they are, or at least I believe them to be racist and a whole lot more besides.
EDL and Robinson have been shown to be what I believe they are. As of yet the jury is out on BLM, there is some evidence that they are not all they seem. Why do you think the founders keep their identities secret, apart from the one?
I don't want to be called a racist either I just acept some on here will do it, like I've said, crack on because I don't care. At least some people, Drizzy for example, have the courage of their convictions.

Nothing could happen to make you something you already are.

“Why do you think the founders keep their identities secret, apart from the one? “
Because as has been explained now on a number of occasions, it’s designed as a movement not an organisation. Deliberately designed to grow from grass roots up not management down.
That’s what the person who founded the movement was saying when she talked of being experienced in organisational design, Marxism etc (the bit that every account in the Internet clips off at that point rather than showing the full thing where she explains what she’s talking about - who knows why...)
It’s what has historically gained most support as organisations with a management structure almost always end up with people in fighting about the management which ends up destroying the whole thing.
The answer has been given to you, but seeing the things that are in front of your eyes is evidently not a prominent skillset of yours..
So a misunderstanding can mean someone is a racist. In which case be very, very careful what you say in public, specially after a few beers because you wouldn't want any misunderstandings to happen, woud you?
Meanwhile I shall carry on treating people I meet in person with the same politeness and respect they deserve, regardless of colour, creed or religious belief.
Have a nice day JK, but be careful out there, misunderstandings are everywhere.
Because someone percieves that something is racist doesn't mean it is, whereas somethimes it is, quite often it could be a misunderstanding or someone looking to be offended.
There are people out there who are offended by everything.
Last year I was reading about a black man in the US who saw a photograph of white men with blacked up faces in a restaurant, he cpmplained to the owner who refused to remove the offending photograph and this he ended up writing to his ocal newspaper where this racist event became public.
The offending photo of black faced men was actually a photograph from the 1920's taken somewhere in South Wales. It showed a group of four coal miners who stopped in a pub on the way home from work.
To be clear there is racism in the UK, I don't feel its anywhere as near as bad as the US. The UK is 85% white and the ethnic minorities quite often self segregate which means the average white person has limited exposure to mutli cultulism. The racism is often due to misconception of the other groups. Some non white can also be very racisist.
Its dangerous though to accept every racist claim without looking at the actual evidence.
