I agree with that, Morrell looks a lovely passer of the football.

| Finland v Wales : Matchday thread on 22:05 - Sep 3 by majorraglan | Not the best of games, but it was a very young Wales team and all things considered an excellent result. Three new young exciting players capped, particularly pleased to see Cabango get on the pitch to earn us first cap. I also quite like old Johnny Williams, gets stuck it, draws free kicks and is prepared to run at the opposition. Bale was a bit off the pace, but he needs games and match fitness. All in all a decent start. |
Sorry I groan whenever I see Johny Williams. Probably not fair but he does something good and does not release the ball and gets tackled or fouled. James saw hardly any of the ball. When he finally got released he delivered the goal. Bale is a shadow of himself. Finland were praying Giggs would not bring on Vaulks with his long throws and Giggs obliged. Wales need a long range diagonal passer to release the wingers.

I agree on Williams, holds on to it a bit too long, frustrating...has his moments though.

We have genuinely become a good international team.

Do think we're in a position now where we're not crossing our fingers for one or two starlets to get games and progress, there's a large enough pool coming through in competition with each other. Add Robbie Burton in midfield, started well at Dinamo Zagreb. Rhys Norrington-Davies (LB) just gone on loan to Luton for the season. Brennan Johnson been getting minutes with Forest, shame he was withdrawn from the u21s (who play tomorrow in Bosnia) to not even sit on the bench for Finland.

Totally agree. Osian Roberts has transformed Wales. Bale’s enthusiasm to play has transformed Wales. The Red Wall has transformed Wales. It all works together. Outstanding, and we are blessed with young players wanting to play for us. Sit back and enjoy it. And feck Team GB. ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿

| Finland v Wales : Matchday thread on 20:59 - Sep 4 with 500 views | jasper_T | Bodin got it wrong imo. Cullen on the wing, a centre half at left back and three midfielders who want to sit and screen the defence trying to work out who would push on and support Mark Harris as we pumped long balls up to him. Not helped by Norrington-Davies staying home to sort his club career, and Giggs nicking both the natural 10s in the squad to sit on the bench (or in Johnson's case not even that). Not much quality in reserve which maybe explains why Bodin waited so long to make a sub, with some visibly heavy legs struggling to get through their first 90 of the season. Played some decent football in spells. Aaron Lewis showed his quality on the ball taking people on and getting good crosses in the box, but was at fault for their goal trying to play an offside that wasn't. Broadhead created a few openings as well. Tight game, can't really complain about the result. | | | |

Woodburn, Ampadu, Matondo, Levitt, Cabango, Johnson possibly Smith all promoted to the A team so not abad effort. Wales rarely win away at any level.
