Steve Cooper : We haven’t got any money on 15:21 - Sep 20 by Dr_Winston
I'd quite like to see Garrick have a go through the middle. His close control is nowhere near good enough at the moment (and may never be) to play out wide but he can finish. With his pace breaking the back line he could be dangerous.
Obviously we'd have to get the ball to him with a bit more urgency and it remains to be seen whether Cooper is up to coaching a team that way.
Garrick is one of our gems, in the same way as DJ. Could wreak havoc up top, through the middle especially
Our own Michael Owen in the making.
Getting the ball quickly up top is what Cooper did best, previously. Why doubt him now when in the throes of building upon our excellent run-in form and playing more progressive football ?

Its easier to produce defensive players. Basically easier to destroy than create.
The only exception is Joey Allen. Although he played further forward after he left us.
Keepers is another disaster area for the club. Even Big Dai was a stiff.
Good point BUT entirely against the grain of our DNA.
For 30 years or more since under the tutelage of Harry Gregg / Toshack the Swansea Schoolboys / Academy have been schooled on possession-based one-touch, progressive positive play, to get the ball into the Red zone when it matters. A beautifully simple philosophy. Leon carried that flag for many years, always looking receive and go forwards.
Cooper seems to be looking to sustain that ethos, albeit with his own less ebullient stamp.

We spent the Ayew and Bony money bringing them back, we had a massive wage bill which,on relegation was an Albatross around our necks. Don't forget we had to pay tax on profits, you can't add all those fees together and think we had all that to spend.
Last years accounts showed we made a.......oh here you go,
It comes down to massive wages draining the profits. That's the downside of the EPL.
In addition to Doubling the income of board members just before the American takeover as well as huge (some of which unnecessary building projects) being undertaken by a board member's building company. The club were bled dry in so many ways.

Different types of player TBF. Dan has exceptional pace, great resilience and never stops but, as we have seen since under 18s, his decision making, 1 on 1 finishing, final ball and defensive work are weak. Had James spent a season under Cooper he'd already be struggling to get a game with us. Garrick isn't as quick and nowhere near as exciting but IMO a better solid, all round footballer. ATM, for any winger without a strong connection to the Swans my advice would be. 'leave'.

Garrick's decision-making and off the ball contribution was never a patch on DJ's. Don't know what could make him a better all-round footballer apart from his height. The weaknesses in DJ's game (poor final ball, reliance on pace to knock it past and go etc.) were/are all there with Garrick only more so, and he's injury prone. He's a good lad and not a bad player, but they're different levels.
Garrick needs game time and lots of it in a team capable of utilising what he's good at if he's going to develop. If he wants to be a winger he's better off elsewhere.
If Dan James had got his breakthrough under Cooper he'd probably still be in the u23's.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I havent seen anything in Garrick that would make him a first team regular. (On the occasions that he has represented the first team). Headless chicken comes to mind.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Did Dan James go with sell on add ons ? Looks like Leeds are back in for him.
Has to play another 20 minutes for Man United. I don't recall any add ons from future sales, only performances. Could be they are willing to sell before having to pay. He's not progressed and a lot of Manure fans don't rate him.

Didn't his first half appearance on the weekend trigger the £1M.

Wierd, seeing as how many goals he made for Rashford.
