Let’s give him a chance. If he plays regularly then by Christmas we should have a decent idea where his future lies.

He does not want to go back to Bristol City once MGW is fit that id for sure. It could be the same sitaution as CCFC had with Albert Adomah.

Wise sage since Toshack era

Yeah I agree, I give my thoughts prior to the signing but now he's here he'll get my full support. From the media snippet's he looks like he's been wanting to play for us for a while so hopefully he can prosper.

Also if it were not for the injury to Gibbs white there is a strong possibility this signing would not have happened.

As I said on another thread though, if Winter did his job properly and got the right money in for Rodon, we should of got the deal for Wilson done whose a proven goalscorer in this division, especially if Neil Harris and that Choo fella who are telling the truth regarding the figures involved in the Wilson deal being highly exagerrated.

Anyhow, he's here now, it could be an inspired signing as were the likes of Dyer etc back in the day.

Some of the reports were way off.

Routledge's troubles came in the premier league if I remember correctly, he was always unstoppable in the championship during his younger years.

Yes but in fairness he was regularly picked by Laudrup in our best top flight team. Says a lot about him

Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

Yeah definitely found a home here and ended up having a decent career in top flight.

Palmer not eligible Saturday I’m assuming?

Same midfield saturday and I worry for us.

Why should we be happy, look at what we have compared to where we were when playing in the top half of the Prem.
After all this is "the next level" and it doesn't look very good.

white rockin
Not really is the straight answer.
Ayew, whilst our best player ,is a preening individual who play acts and I do not like that personally.
The rest? I' ll ask you

1.Define happiness
2.Which players are you "happy" with.

I am happy to hope that Bennett will be a stella player for us and that soon he will take over as captain.

Are you happy with our captain?

Were you happy last night

Are you happy when we take off a striker when chasing a game

I'll stay miserable thanks. I'll survive

Fair enough but although we have been poor in the last two games I don't buy into all the doom and gloom. Grimes is not as bad as some make out and was a far better player when Gibbs White was in the team.

White

Nothing to do with doom or gloom.its reality.

It’s before our very eyes.

Grimes is actually worse than he appears as his stats belie the fact he passes backwards so often.

We are desperate for a leader and I think Bennettis one. If Steve has any balls he should relieve Grimesof captaincy immediately.

Think Bennett might bully Woodman into shape

Kinda with you on that WR - Grimes, for me, is your typical 6/10 most weeks throws in the very occasional 7/10 & slightly more often 5/10. Not captain material if you are wanting an inspirational, grab the game by the throat kinda guy but ok if you want a turns up every week, fit to play & can call a coin toss.

I get the doom & gloom if you bought into the ‘next level’ line but if not we are a bang average, dull to watch mid-table side who has consistently sold our best players over the last 4 seasons & replaced them with cheap buys/youngsters or loanees so not really sure what we’d expect.

On a good day we play some reasonable stuff but generally in patches & but will generally stay in games & can be difficult to beat . . . . . but we lack pace, creativity & a genuine goal threat so if the opposition set up well we tend to struggle unless we get the first goal.

If anyone is in any way uplifted or filled with joy with how we have collapsed as a vibrant ,forward looking ,good footballing club ,then PM me with what you're smoking.

Can’t imagine you’ll get much traction on that OHL but that happened (or at least commenced) 4/5 years back so not a whole lot of point lamenting it now - we are a very long way from getting back to that level, for me we’ve begun to slow our fall but not sure if we’ve hit ground zero yet & definitely haven’t started any bounce back.
