Sagrada Familia is an amazing sight Cat. I have a very faded Gaudi mug from going there and the Camp Nou in about 1996. Coach and camping with my wife (well girlfriend then). It’s a great privilege to see so many places, though too often I get to see far too little of the places I visit.
Off the beaten track for me includes chicken farms and slaughterhouses of the world! |

As regards nice people I think most places I've been the people are nice, although it's mainly European and English speaking countries I've been too, outside that the people of Tunisia and Egypt seemed nice enough, when talking of people within countries that I personally didn't find very nice then the pecking order is very very clear for me :-

French people ,away from Paris,are friendly,warm hearted and classy. Jeez,they play rugby FFS. Been countle times ,lad been playing rugby there and we've had French lad staying with us. Clean,respectful and very family oriented.
French girls tend not to be pyseeheads nor ones to be found vomitting in gutters ,half dressed after a good night out.
Italians are super mart and also big on family. Speak a little italian and they will love you.
Spaniards get a hard time from our dross for tourists and have to wade through our destritus often to earn their living.
Away from the flesh resorts they are again huge of family and respect their old people.
I mean -family and respecting elders.Imagine it in Wales or England .We have both lost it years ago and are a nation of selfish trailer trash who eat each other | |

I didn't like the Northern French but in the south they were great. I haven't met an American I didn't like. The Turks and the Greeks were brilliant, the Spanish too. Now Russia, I didn't speak to many Muscovites because of the language barrier but we met one in a bar who was a lovely fella, spoke good english and was very interested in Wales, he'd never been to the UK. The receptionist in the hotel was really nice too, even the armed guard at the entrance was tidy.
Only in the North of France, just outside Paris did I meet several people who were really quite obnoxious. Even being Welsh didn't help!
I don't dislike any country per se, except in a sporting sense, England of course. |

The north of France ,Cat ,is an odd place and in many places in Pas de Calais and Picardy,quite grim. People reflect that.
Bretons are terrific
down the west coast and into the Basque is rugby country so something to chat about and inland in rural Aquitaine/Auvergne/Limousin and into Languedoc the people are both simple and very helpful. Ive even found Provence to be a place where the people are not in any hateful towards tourists .It really doesn help to make the effort to learn at least rudimentary French. Parisians will take the pysee over bad French,others will stay quiet ,listen and prompt when necessary. | |

Not really ,son.It's just you cannot extracate yourself from that mindset .
I'll make it easier for you to understand. Here goes.
The Swansea I grew up in during the 50s and 60s was very vibrant and had a centre to be proud of. We had everything and didnt need to go up to Cardiff for anything.
We had shops of quality, parks to be proud of ,swimming pools,like the open air one in Morriston,that were easily accessible,and a High street worthy of the name. We had a football team to be proud of ,a rugby club that was pre eminent and country cricket at a venue still missed badly by all who attended.
The people I knew were straight,honest and very hard working. I was very proud of my town.
I wont post any photos of how the town used to be as it upsets me so much.
I love my old home town but hate what has happened to it. If you cant handle that then shove me on ignore.
What are they like here..?.just take a look at your chums comments .They seem to know it all but there are over 300,000 here and like Swansea ,good and bad everywhere.
