I think the first half against Bristol Coty was up there with our best performances of the season. Which made it all the more galling at the final whistle

I always feel for a player who is unfortunate enough to suffer a self-inflicted calamity in a match. Guehi’s face on Wednesday night was racked with pain. He wanted the ground to open up and swallow him. Yes it was a howler, an unnecessary hazardous pass across his goal area which was laden with probable disaster. And so it proved, going straight to an opposition player who laid it off for the easiest of finishes. I felt for Guehi because he has been a linchpin of our defence and in general has been immaculate all season. But one moment of pressurised misjudgement and he is reduced to a wretched figure of abject misery. That he recovered and performed to his usual high standard for the remainder of the match is much to his credit. The ironic thing is, as I’ve posted before, Guehi’s misplaced pass was only the most extreme example of some appalling misplaced passes all over the field all evening. Things improved for the last quarter when Hourihane arrived on the scene.

Marc ha been terrific. It would help if he was encouraged to not pas the ball across the field in such a dangerous area. Passing it forward is less risky and more effective and eventually the ball is passed forward.
Woody made some good intercepts and Im asuming Margetson ha offered him suitable advice.
We cannot concede dumb goals when out goal threat is minimal.
Brentford v Rotherham has been postponed due to covid.
That means we'll play our 2 games in hand over Brentford before they next kick a ball, with our home game v Middlesbrough tomorrow and Blackburn away Tuesday.
