Is Potter top drawer.? 22:06 - Feb 3 with 5353 viewsReslovenSwan1

Winning at Anfield with Dan Burn at wing back. He must have something about him. He did well with Swansea with John, Celina, McKay with Courtney Baker Richardson leading the attack and Nordfildt in goal. Remarkable. All these players failed the non negotiables except CBR who was just too blunt an instrument for Coops. He took the 'Non Negs' too far at the Den on his debut which always led me to look favourably on the lad.

He made his comeback for Barnet last week up agaisnt Joe Lewis for Torquay. I always keep an eye out for the man as he is a proper battler and very strong. i hope he does well.

Team of youngsters ?

Not really. Van Der Hoorn, Olssen, Dyer, Routledge, Fer, Narsingh. There were many players who’d been around the block a few times. Not that it matters. Potter did well for us.

Forgetting that Dyer and Routledge had to waive appearance fees before being available for selection.

He was dealing with a sh*t storm, and managed to stop the rot and do it while implementing a fine brand of football. Unfortunately it’s a small industry though and premier league interest was inevitable although I thought he would have give it another season and atleast show an ounce of loyalty. It doesn’t surprise me at all how well he’s thought of by the likes of Pep Etc.

He has 5 wins in 24 games top draw come on now, let just say he is a decent manager doing an ok job.

I bet if pep was in charge of Brighton with same squad he wouldn't do much better and if potter was in charge man city he would be much better on stats...state are a load of sh@t

Taking the least amount of points in the calendar year with the only exception being Sheff Utd would state otherwise.

Brighton fans were calling for his head not long ago because they were fed up of watching passing for the sake of passing with no end substance, oh & he’s had decent cash to spend as well.

It amazes me the lauding over ex managers & the lack of support for the current one.

Let's be fair he did very well for us. The youngsters he put in were all untried at championship level. He didn't have Ayew not through his choice. He made an impression on a Premier league club and has done well with Brighton. I think next year will decide if stays at that level of club or the door opens at a higher level for him. Good luck to him.

Why bring the overrated Pep into the discussion, he took over an already excellent Barcelona team, he then went to Bayern and was not as successful as the previous manager, and despite a bottomless pit of money to try and buy success at Man city, he can not win the one cup that matters more than the rest, however i agree with you if he was in charge of Brighton with the same resources as Potter they would probably be relegated.

Meanwhile on planet earth Pep’s side rip the current champions a new arsehole whilst Potter scrapes a draw away at Burnley

Outstanding from Pep at half time yesterday. Foden as a false 9 was interesting but at half time he got Bernardo Silva to join him and give him even more freedom. Liverpool couldn’t cope with the tactical switch and had no answer. Masterclass from Pep.

Yep that is what having obscene amounts of money to buy success does, but sadly for Pep he can not produce the goods on the biggest stage of all.

Guardiola is the youngest ever Champions league winning manager and won it twice in three years.

I'd say he's produced the goods on the biggest stage of all.

He took over an already great team in Barcelona, most top managers would have done great with that team, since he left that team many years ago he has failed dismally in Europe against other top teams with similar resources.

That was no great Barcelona team which was why Rijkaard was sacked. They hadn’t won the league for a few years and in the season before Guardiola took over they finished 18 points behind Real Madrid and 10 behind Villarreal.

Giardiola then took over the failing squad and immediately won the first treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League in Spanish football history.

We’ll agree to differ.

I think you’ll find that the previous manager wasn’t getting the best out of the team And it was a disharmony / player power struggle.

And was sacked ... the strong squad was already there but of course Guardiola had to manage those top international players and to get the best out of them which is no easy task. Ask Frank Lampard.

Showing then and since that he’s a top coach and man manager..

Just happened to take over a great bunch of players who were already there, every where else he has gone the only way he gets domestic success is buy constantly spending obscene amounts to do so, buying success so to speak, but despite the bottom less pit of cash he has at his disposal, he fails every time against the big boys in Europe, he took over a Bayern team who had just won the champions cup but he could not repeat that success so he jumps ship when offered as much cash as he can spend to buy success at city yet year after year he fails to win the most prestigious cup out there as i say a good manager no doubt but vastly overrated.

the guy said would Pep do as good a job if he managed Brighton with the same resources as Potter for he has failed against teams with similar resources during his time at Bayern and Man City to win the most prestigious cup out there to win, of course you will no doubt bring up him winning the cup with the team he inherited, but does that really count, not denying by any means that he is not a very good manager, but you need to stop being taken in by the propaganda making him out to be something he is not, facts are despite all the resources he has at his disposal he fails year after year to win the big one with teams he has actually built and put together.

Taken in by the propaganda?

10 points clear in the Pl & still in every competition he can play for.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they won the quadruple this season.
