What's your recommendations, for choice's of both red and white?
I'm enjoying a drop of 19Crimes now after me Tea, I do prefer the Apothic red though, their dark red is nice to, as is 19Crimes Ultimate, standard 19Crimes doesn't have enough body for me though and its seems a bit dry, that said I do enjoy it, a neighbour give me a Bordeux 2018 byt Le Chai on my birthday last month, that was superb, Looking to broaden my choices as there must be plenty of other wines out there, that are just as nice. You can't go wrong with a Chilean Merlot. Some are better than others, but I've never had a bad one.
Bought an £8 bottle of something of the type from Aldi to take camping with Mrs Winston a couple of years ago and it was gone before we'd finished putting the tent up. Wish I could remember what it was. |
If you like Merlot you’ll like Pinotage which is South African. Currently like others I’m into Malbec at the moment preferably Argentinian. |  |

In simple terms,
Oz for Red
Nz for white
Most Barossa valley reds are lovely
Try Nz whites from Blenheim area and also Otago reds. (much underated) |

Told ya. You can't go wrong with a Chilean Merlot.
I've made my own Merlot with a kit. Needs a year or two of ageing but not bad at all considering it works out about £1.20 a bottle. | |

2019 PAUL MAS (Well know winemaker)
Malbec ,Languedoc. £12 for 2. Good with Lamb ,honest.
I know this part of France quite well and been to several wineries around Beziers and inland.
The malbec ,IMO,aint as harsh as Argentina and is very good value.
Tesco has a lovely Campania white ..Tesco finest Falanghina del Sannio. £9. NONE BLOODY QUID FFS. It is well balanced and has a little bitterness which goes well with pasta.

Ive been on several wine courses in a previous career when Blue Nun was deemed a treat with Sunday lunch (in Killay)
Ive done the Medoc tours and tasted a very expensive Margaux and countless Premier Cru.
My favs are Rhone Valley reds and Puglia reds with decent Ribeye.
New Zealand Marlborough for white wine every time.
Stick to wine and we're fine.!
