Im afraid rather than awaiting cctv,I would rather Police use water cannon,tear gas and have the dogs bit a few or simply getting stuck into them rather than passively standing by.They will have been under orders ,trust me,orders made with political overtones in mind and a mindet not to unduly upset the public. Police action always leads to complaint,no matter what.
That way, less damage,less public cost and less embarrassment seeing a police force having the pyss taken out of it.

They turn up with their pointed caps and it wasn't pleasant even thogh I showed them my ID (THEN Police Warrant Card).They looked at me like I was a member of the International Brigade in Franco territory.
Gendamerie turned up when I had a motor cycle collision in Cherbourg en route to catch the Ferry to Poole.I got hit albeit at a low speed and we were ok,thankfully. However,they tried to blame it on me.Just as well I spoke decent French and this time my warrant card worked. They don't exactly engage or make any attempt to be pleasant and it would shock people here if they found out what happen if you disrespect them. I would have thought they would have had to be identified during the act not before, as no crime would have been commuted before.
