| May 6th - Senedd Elections on 12:14 - Apr 1 by Kilkennyjack | Good you are are asking questions. How would you feel about Wales joining a so-called union with a debt of £1 Trillion to £4.8 Trillion ? That would be mad, right ? We could not afford it,right ? Well i have news for you mate ..... read below and weep .... Cymru cannot afford not to be Indy. UK National Debt Surpassed £1 Trillion Mainstream media headlines today are focused on Britain's record national debt, which just surpassed £1 trillion, a figure that can only exponentially increase unless the entire mechanism of Government finance is overhauled. The truth however is much worse, factoring in all liabilities including state and public sector pensions, the real national debt is closer to £4.8 trillion, some £78,000 for every person in the UK. Yes I asked questions and the Pliad Cymru man couldn't answer them all, the answers he did give are a bit generic, no detail. He gave answers similar to things you say on here. That's hardly building confidence. We are already in the Union, part of that debt is already ours and as I asked Rhun (and he failed to answer) what would our financial rating be and could we borrow at as low rates as the UK does. Do you have a link for those headlines, it always helps. I have seen elsewhere that a large chunk of the Uk debt is actually owed to the UK, a strange circumstance which is why I always say our real problems are with the money lenders, the rich and powerful who play us like a well worn piano. Can you tell me why I should vote for a party that, even on a one to one level with over 2 weeks to reply still cannot give me facts, fine details, things it should be telling the public to convince them to vote Plaid Cymru? he couldn't answer all my questions and the answers he did give just aren't good enough and he is the deputy leader, if he doesn't know just who does? | |

Wales has had an assembly for 20 years . You must wonder why Wales has fallen so far behind England, Scotland, NI and most of Eastern Europe. Wonder if it has anything to do with labour misrule? How could independent Wales cope without the annual UK subsidy under the Barnett formula. £3,000 per person. Approximately £9.5 billion a year. Where 🤔 🤔 has the money gone? It’s irrelevant. They aren’t going to get any power, they are far right lunatics with no policies. It’s just a protest vote against future devolution.

20 years of a devolved government, 20 years of Welsh Labour that has not worked for Wales. Many of us blame the Senedd for our woes and don't want Welsh Labour to be allowed to carry on. That was why I asked the Plaid Cymru deputy leader questions and the answers I got just weren't good enough. WHy offer to talk to me about indy but then ot answer the questions? Did he think I didn't want the answers? No, I doubt it, he just couldn't supply them. Think back to brexit, the remainers on here (at the time) were full of angst, they claimed the EU held all the cards and the Uk could never get a good deal because of the EU's size and power. Plaid Cymru are saying we can negotiate the deal we want with the EU. That the Uk had such a fight, does that honestly make you think Wales will get a good deal? We won't, wewould get an offer of membership under their rules, take it or leave it. #Ap Iorwerth couldn't even guess at how long it would take us to meet the Copenhagen criteria. He couldn't give a specific answer to the question of borders and would we end up with a hard border with England. I repeat, if the deputy Plaid Cymru leader doesn't know these things, who does? It's smoke and mirrors, more political bluster playing on the emotions of Welsh people who Plaid want to follow their hearts instead of their heads. I'm not falling for it.

That was why the assembly was created 20 years so Wales could decide how to spend the money and make a difference to the lives of the people. Sadly has not worked . DRAKEFORD won't use his power to increase income tax. He just wants to double council tax on second homes which will be bad news for one of Wales' most important industries and largest employers.

I'll tell you were he could raise more money, there is a small group of people who own several houses that they turn into HMO's and make a fortune out of, students don't have to pay any council tax either and create massive amounts of rubbish. Put a tax on any HMO ownership and charge every student £10 per month for rubbish collection. In Brynmill these hard up students seem to own a lot of cars and get drunk a lot too. They can afford 10 quid a month.

Your line of argument is simply incorrect. 1999 - Devolution starts in Cardiff Bay. 2000 - ‘West Wales in an area which has benefited since 2000 from European structural funds at their highest possible levels’ So clearly it was decades of Westmonster rule that positioned Wales so badly that it immediately qualified for the highest levels of EU funding. The UK govt does not care about Wales, whereas 3 hours away London booms. Wake up and stop guessing. Wales needs to build its own future prosperity. London does not and never will care. They have had 30 years of subsidies from Westminster via the Barnett formula as well as subsidies from the UK via the EU. You think this would have made a difference, instead education and NHS in Wales is falling behind.

Nice try at your attempt to look at being intellectual but you failed , again . If you think by quoting a put down by a member of a extinct band is going to upset me in anyway then think again , all it does shows is your lack of intellect. `Although I must admit your ability to add emojis to emphasise your point shows the secondary school system is working .

The highest possible levels? Between 2000 and 2019 Wales recieved approximately 4 billion pounds. When we left the EU Wales was getting around 600 miilion per year. Hardly a massive amount, specially compared to what Westminster gives Wales. What if we went indy and got into the EU straightaway, we wouldn't get any money from Westminster anymore but we MIGHT get 600 million per year from the EU, I suppose you think that a generous deal. I said might because the EU has been cutting grants, has been telling members they mst be net contributors not have net gains
