They put a charge on alcohol too, where does that go? To the shops isn't it? Where does the carrier bag fee go? Does the Senedd get it? What you miss again is the bigger picture, a few small things (which incidentally have made things more expensive for one of the poorest places in Europe) doesn't help us much. You can trumpet free scripts all you like but I'm very much of the opinion that no benefit should be universal. People with lifelong conditions should get them but others should pay if they can afford to. The only thing I've seen from the tories is opening up in June, that's a stupid stance, we need to see the data, to follow the science, not make popular choices to win an election during a pandemic. Otherwise I haven't seen much from any of them. I'll have to watch the news more and pay attention.

They've given a date when we are free of our muzzles and distancing. Labour scoff and call this fanciful. I'm sorry but nothing comes close; it's gonna be Tory. And I'll be telling everyone I meet the same thing.

Well you are going to get a vote. You can vote for a left of centre party whether it be Labour, Plaid or the Lib Dems or 1 of 2 right wing Tory parties. That is a choice I am happy to make and will support a left of centre party who throughout this crisis have acted cautiously. Alternatively you can vote for a right wing party that has not been cautious despite saying so. The party that opened pubs and borders and now wants to get rid of social distancing. Your choice.

Watching the news tonight, the Senedd is accuseddown Welsh hospitality badly, not my words, the reporters. Emma McLarkin says hospitality has been left in limbo Another thing, this bonus for the NHS, everyone gets it no matter their hours. Doesn't seem fair to me that a part timer who may not have worked extra hours will get the same as a full timer. Even worse, the part timer may not pay tax so could get more. Then, the qualification for getting it is 4 weeks work for an NHS health board in the last 12 months. Why should someone who left or was sacked after as little as 4 weeks get the full bonus? And volunteers get nothing, you could have been a volunteer for 6 months and get nothing.

Unlike you and several others on here the Welsh Public backs the policies of the Welsh Government. You cant have it all ways. Either you take the cautious approach or you dont. There will always be people who will be losers and complain and hospitality is one of those. Last year the figures rocketed when hospitality was opened and dropped substantially after it closed. You can do one of 2 things. Take the cautious approach like Drakeford does which will have complaints from hospitality and others or be loose like Johnson is and open things like Nightclub and Air Travel. You need to decide which camp you are in. Are you for the cautious approach where people who cannot open will complain or do you want to take the risky route and open more things up which got us into this mess from August onwards. You claim to support being cautious. You cannot then moan if others complain because they arent allowed to open. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ [Post edited 30 Mar 2021 19:29]

Cat is always doing that, sitting on the fence is his thing, he is clearly right wing and then he says he is not, he says one thing and backtracks and makes a case for the opposite, he won't change that is the way he is ever since I've come across him on here.

That's a failure to understand what I ment, I should have been more specific. The complaint is that the Senedd didn't provide the support for Welsh hospitality like Westminster did in England. It's not so much bout opening up as a failure to help in other ways. It was on the TV news but it's not on Wlaesonline. I did find this though, the true covid death toll in Wales, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ Edit, if the Welsh people trust Drakeford and Welsh Lbour so much then why this, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ That's hardly a sign of the trust you claim. Labour expected to do their worse since devolution started, the tories making gains and even the abolish party predicted to get seats. Welsh Labour can get it's act together for ALL of Wales or it faces a difficult future. That's what the polls are saying. On May 6th we'll find out. [Post edited 30 Mar 2021 20:17]

We have been through this before. That figure is based on suspected deaths not positive tests so isnt accurate. It doesnt fit with PHW where there has been positive tests and it doesnt fit in with the excess deaths over previous years. The cases of deaths from things like Heart attacks or cancer dont vary to any great extent each year and you wouldnt expect the figure of excess deaths to be a 1/3 less than the actual deaths. The only major difference is an increase due to covid and a decrease in flu which is 10s per year. The excess deaths and PHW figures are very close yet the ONS figures you like has 2000 more deaths than both. If you want to use estimated figures rather than actual then I certainly dont. There was a thread on here where somebody had covid on a death certificate despite having 3 negative tests. It speaks for itself.

The party you vote for wants to get rid of social distancing by June. Are you going to support a party that wants to get rid of caution or not. Luckily you wont be voting. This is a quandary for others on here who claim they want caution as well. |
The Tory Road map is as agreed by sage and based on scientific evidence. It is cautious. Professor's Vallance and Whitty have stated so live on TV. To put this another way, you will vote for a supposedly left wing party who will actually prevent people from earning a decent living wage for longer than is necessary. Extending their time in abject poverty. As I've said before, would you be prepared to forfeit 20% of your state pension to subsidise those Drakeford is keeping on furlough unnecessarily? I'm not voting Tory but their road map cannot be faulted, we should be putting the politics to one side and following the science.

Yes we have been here before. Lots and lots of times. That figure is not based on suspected deaths. It is causes of death on people's death certificate, it is not a matter of guesswork. Either way, the number of people who have died in Wales is disgraceful. How anyone can even consider voting Labour based on this alone is beyond me.
| May 6th - Senedd Elections on 21:04 - Mar 30 with 918 views | Glossolalia | We are no longer in an emergency. We need politicians that can see this. If Labour can't, then get them out of power. I swear some here would be happy to be subjected to these unnatural, grotesque measures indefinitely. The vaccines work. Overwhelming majority of the vulnerable vaccinated. Government scientists say fewer than 10 in 100,000 unvaccinated people under 40 are likely to be hospitalised if they contract COVID. By June-July nearly all adults given at least first jab, which is still very effective at stopping the disease becoming serious in individuals. And yet, people still think official rules from these flip-flopping, chronically pessimistic shysters should stretch on into the distance unerringly. And that's not even mentioning the utter devastation these measures cause. The time to live is coming soon, but Labour will have you believe that the very existence of a manageable disease, from here on in, is too much risk to take. This isn't even politics. I wouldn't care where the policy of exiting ALL measures comes from. It's coming from a viable party. Sign me up. [Post edited 30 Mar 2021 21:07]
