We do all feel sorry that Scargill called them out on strike without a strike ballot causing a year or more of sheer misery to be inflicted on them and their families while Scargill lived in luxury in his two houses on full pay as well as the money donated to him by the Russian "miners union". As unions were banned in Russia at the time the money was clearly from the Russian government.

I saw miners especially in south Wales,Notts.Derbys and Lancs a good honest folk doing the devil's work.Yorkshite less so.I been engaged with them .I came across Scargill too and he was as I expected.
These people were used for political advantage by a deeply dangerous man who holidayed in Cuba under Castro as well as Bulgaria and lived very well thank you very much. He never remotely went without.
