| Ariolla Leaves on 13:53 - Apr 3 by Dr_Parnassus | It also doesn’t include the sales of Rodon et al. It isn’t supposed to give a picture of what’s going on. It’s supposed to show what Cooper has directly been given to shape his squad in comparison to others during that same time period. Brentford have sold their star players and given their manager a chunk of that to invest in replacements. We have sold our star players and due to financial constraints cannot do the same thing. It was purely to show Cooper has not been given “big money and been backed”. This shows exactly that. But if you want one on net spend I can do that one too - it won’t be a pretty picture for us though, you understand that right? The difference between our purchases and sales over the last 2 years for example is +£48m, we have lost more value in our playing squad in terms of sales vs purchases than any other team I would hazard a guess. It would be right up there. Which ever way you spin it, it’s not going to come out as you want it to and only strengthens the point I’m making. [Post edited 3 Apr 2021 14:11]

Yeah I’ll use that, you seem to like it. But happy to use any one you want. Neither will show Cooper being given big money and being backed, it will show the opposite. Let me know and I’ll do one up.

Well transfermarkt will give the overall package, which will be favourable to the point you tried to make as it will inflate the actual figure. And that’s already adding up to less than 3m in two years isn’t it. So again, whatever criteria, source or instalment or final package stats you use - it’s still not going to show what you want it to. [Post edited 3 Apr 2021 14:18]

Nothing to do with budget. Look at what we are seeing. Few managers would have tolerated Woody for a start nor allow AA to roam all over the place losing any shape at all. It is utterly disjointed drivel. It is down to cooper and nobody else

Yep, I’d prefer people criticise real things if they feel they need to. We are playing badly, there is enough material to go on without creating phantom scenarios like Cooper being given big money to spend.

Everyone is judged on the same criteria in terms of transfers. Agent fees and loan fees are owed by all clubs, it’s not Swansea specific. If you have any sources then I will happily add them in. It still won’t show what you want it to though.

It has made me profoundly depressed.Seriously. What we must not do is watch us on YouTube playing and beating,Citeh, herniated, arse, lerpwl. It is not that long ago we were flocking to Liverpool, drinking in the vibe and then taking them out. I have good friends who are a Liverpool fans and they are baffled as to how far we have fallen so quickly. They had a lot of time for the way we played .. Cooper has made us disrespected, and worthy of contempt by many clubs [Post edited 3 Apr 2021 14:28]

Link Jasper sent yesterday for agent fees. Loan fees for Hourihane, MGW, Guehi who were getting interest elsewhere.

Every club pays agent fees, it’s not unique to Swansea and isn’t money given to Cooper. Let me know a source which states loan fees for all the loans in the championship and I will happily add them. But again it still won’t show what you want it to. Your best play here is to drop the Cooper has been backed with big money stuff and focus on something that may actually have some substance, such as the way we are playing. | Ariolla Leaves on 12:35 - Apr 3 by 9MilesHigh | You haven't got a clue mate. Every single one of those transactions would have cost something, especially the loan deal for Hourihane. We haven't got 'big money' but we have a healthy budget and Cooper was allowed to fully utilize it plus he was given bonus signings in Morris and Arriola which he threw his toys out because of COOPER OUT |
Haha no clue, but then you agree with my point that what i listed in no way constitutes 'big money'! Do you just enjoy the conflict or something?

Agent Fees: https://www.thefa.com/-/media/ You need to add loan fees, you can’t pedal the “he’s had no money” while conveniently leaving our large loan fees which we have no doubt paid. Hourihane, MGW, Guehi didn’t come cheap nor did the two Americans I doubt. Brewster was reportedly a large fee for a loan last year aswell. The performances have been like it for ages. We all know that.

Yep, agents fees are applicable to all clubs who buy players, it isn’t unique to Swansea. And huh? You were the one who made the claim Cooper had been given big money, nobody else. You would have thought to make such a claim you would have at least the slightest clue how much, and certainly how much in comparison to the rest of the league. Doesn’t seem you do. With the fees that are listed, it seems you are incorrect. Happy for you to provide any fees that aren’t listed if you think it may help you. [Post edited 3 Apr 2021 15:17]

Happy for you to add them if you can find the fees. But we would have to add loan fees to the rest of the league too for balance. Builth seems to think the Hourihane fee was a shade over 300k (to be doubled if promoted). We didn’t pay a loan fee to Liverpool for Brewster according to reports, which reports say it was a large one? Youth loans such as that are often completed with no fee as it’s mutually beneficial for their development. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gallagher and even Guehi was no fee, or at least minimal. I’m afraid you are going to have to find an awful lot more than that if you want to make a case... or even just to lift us even one place above Preston, £2.6m more to be exact. That’s also not including any fees paid for loan players by Preston. I have no argument, I’m just providing the side of common sense that Cooper has obviously not been given big money. Just like the last discussion we had when I provided the obvious side of common sense that says the Americans were clearly the prime movers in bringing in Bob Bradley. There is a theme with me, common sense will always be the way. [Post edited 3 Apr 2021 15:34]

You are correct regarding Brewster, my bad. Hourihane would have been an expensive one with other clubs interested like Bournemouth. Hard to know correct figures, would also like to see the wage bills of each club at Championship level.

We have no idea how much Hourihane loan would have been. It was only a 6 month loan of a player that wasn’t getting in their team. I don’t think it would be much and my guess would have roughly been what Builth stated earlier. 334k I think he said. Salary is a different kettle of fish all together. The majority of which would be contracts already committed to the squad prior to Cooper coming in. But what is clear is that Cooper has not been given big money to get players in. It may be more accurate to say the squad he inherited is on a larger than average salary due to certain players signing contracts when the club was in the league above. But not really sure what point that is making.
