Obvious.

Cooper made it clear from the offset he didn’t want him.

Clueless insight

Your last post was a complete monstrosity regarding the Bristol City game, where we lost 3-1 after a tactical change by the “pumped up Pearson”

You are one weird piece of work

And I say again go and rewatch the second half the so called tactical genius was not why we lost
Two gifted goals and our inability to finish...many chances created by us including Arriola missing a golden chance to equalise at 1-2.
We scored first and we’re still in control of the game go and watch it instead of believing that narrative and your prejudice

You keep holding up this Bristol City game as some sort of bastion of our footballing style and prowess.

Bristol City!!!

And yes, we were decent in the first half but no matter how many times you pretend to say you have watched it, we were nothing in the second half. There was no string of great chances or peppering their goal.

At the very best it was an even contest.

And Bristol City, mind!!! Aren't we expected to be better than some in this league, you know if we are 2nd etc?

In the 6 games since us, they have beaten Brum away and drawn with Blackburn

And lost to...

Bournemouth
QPR
Rotherham
and are currently losing to Stoke at home

Holding up this one half of a football match in the last 3 months says it all about the weak arguments you protest.

In certain sectors we have been.

In others, evidently we seem more than happy to splash the cash.

Which "sectors" are they?

No excuse about lack of numbers, but you don’t play a loan player if you don’t think he’s good enough.

We’ve got no idea if he’d have been any better or worse than Dhanda or anyone else. We didn’t see him train every day. He hasn’t got a glittering resume.

I quite agree with you that Cooper didn’t want him. If he saw anything when Ariolla was here to change his mind and then didn’t act on it, he’s out of order. If not, then why play him?

It's not a case of not liking what he sees it's a case of not wanting to try a different formation.

Even when we've been crying out for a change.

We’ve spent big money, to get good players at the club.

Cooper has been backed. Absolutely no doubt about it.

We've obviously got different definitions of 'big money'.

In January when we had a fantastic opportunity to properly strengthen to get promoted what did we sign?

- A back up keeper on a free.
- A back up right back for a nominal fee.
- A winger / forward for a small fee for the future.
- Hourihane on decent wages to replace the losses of Palmer&MGW.
- A half fit Arriola who he didn't want and was reportedly very cheap.
- Morris who probably wasn't his pick but seemed to offer something but again was reportedly cheap. Unfortunate injury.

Is that what you'd call 'big money'? Bearing in mind the recent sales and our 'loan' from our benevolent benefactors?

I make it that we've spent roughly the same amount on transfer fees than we have on paying intermediaries.

Good work if you can get it.

Its the Swansea way. All the best players are cheap and the most expensive are the worst.

Cheap: sinclair Graham, Bodde, Michu, Hernndez, Chico , Williams, Rangel Taylor Britton.

Expensive Bony 2, CLucas, Borja, Sanches.

Sadly all the bad ones came at once with the Sigurdson money.

The Two USA players were quality players and if both had stayed fit would have been good assets for Swansea city. Cooper took too long to integrate Manning and Whitaker. Manning was not used for months.

Potter had to use kidsfrom the academy who performed well and players like Baker Richardson who scored some important goals.

Morris looked decent. You've got absolutely no evidence to say Arriola would have been.

Bidwell has been fantastic for most of the season and Manning has done well when he's been rotated in too. Where's the issue there!?

Yea and we finished mid table.

That tweet could have been made at any point in the last eighteen months tbh. Think Clement comparisons are more apt than Monk in a "respected coach fails as manager by being an utter coward" way though.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Not sure why you've replied to me in that.

If you're manager has you so high in the table they definitely be given the benefit of the doubt.

If say next season we're still playing an unattractive style of football but not in contention for anything then serious questions need to be asked. Its not impossible to get that style back. I remember Martinez instigated it quite quickly, so did Rodgers after Sousa had deviated from it slightly and so did Potter after a few years of Clement / Carvalhal survival style football.

Its probably more fickle to keep repeatedly berating a manager who got us to the play offs last season and will again this season to be honest.

You haven't got a clue mate.

Every single one of those transactions would have cost something, especially the loan deal for Hourihane.

We haven't got 'big money' but we have a healthy budget and Cooper was allowed to fully utilize it plus he was given bonus signings in Morris and Arriola which he threw his toys out because of

Such an inaccurate way of presenting things. That Brentford figure does not factor in selling Watkins and Benrahma for nearly 50 million. Forest got 10 odd million for Matty Cash. How much did Norwich sell Godfrey for, 25 maybe? Anyway it’s not a net spend figure, so it’s not a reflection of what is going on at all.

In January the players were fresh playing well and on an upward trajectory. The Owners provided the manager options off the bench in order for him to rotate his better player so they could stay fresh until the end of the season.

The options included four full intenationals of quality who were fresh and keen as mustard a very promising forward and a goal keeprer reserve. Manning was also a bench resource un used at that time.

Cooper started using Manning very late and gave Guehi, Roberts, Ayew no rest. Lowe and Bidwell were the first to go into serious decline followed by Ayew and Roberts recently. Guehi had a short time off with a fatigue related injury. Young guns have seen very little action part from Cabango.

I do anot accept the manager was not supported. FOUR full internationals on the bench as back up with an extra goalkeeper and a quality young reserve striker. Why are the players stale?. Why has his best players never subsititued Ayew, Rovberts Guehi?

I am no expert but I suspect the "sports scientists" are having kittens. Swansea managers have always been cutting edge not old school.

You can keep throwing your toys out of the pram if it makes you feel better. But you are wasting your time, I would have thought you would have worked that out by now.

The comment I was replying to is that Cooper has been given big money and been backed. That’s not true.

Your point is that we have a few players that were here before he came that are still on Premier League wages. That’s not the same as giving Cooper a lot of money and backing him though is it. Cooper has been given a transfer budget akin to that of the lowest spenders in the league. These are just facts, whether you like them or not is of little consequence.

It also doesn’t include the sales of Rodon et al.

It isn’t supposed to give a picture of what’s going on. It’s supposed to show what Cooper has directly been given to shape his squad in comparison to others during that same time period.

Brentford have sold their star players and given their manager a chunk of that to invest in replacements. We have sold our star players and due to financial constraints cannot do the same thing.

It was purely to show Cooper has not been given “big money and been backed”. This shows exactly that.

But if you want one on net spend I can do that one too - it won’t be a pretty picture for us though, you understand that right? The difference between our purchases and sales over the last 2 years for example is +£48m, we have lost more value in our playing squad in terms of sales vs purchases than any other team I would hazard a guess. It would be right up there.

Which ever way you spin it, it’s not going to come out as you want it to and only strengthens the point I’m making.
