Any classification is a denial of human rights. We are then not able to aspire to greater things than our parents . We also cannot live in a large house in the valleys ,go on expensive holidays and wear designer clothes and all yourself working class. Who and what is middle class

I have voted for all major parties. I once grabbed somebody by the throat for reckoning I was working class because of the city of my birth. I’ve also tangled with someone referring to me as middle class. Grammar school boys are referred to as such. We are obsessed with branding people.

Oh I'm tory again now then, changed that book again have we. I voted Labour most of the time, Libdems once, Captain beany looks good as do abolish but I never vote for Plaid Cymru as long as they make promises they can never keep. I expect politicians to renege on manifestos but to put out a manifesto they can't deliver even if they really try is shocking. Guaranteeing an indy ref within 5 years....lie. They promise by 2030, The Welsh economy will be locally owned and pay high wages People will live longer, fitter lives in a heathier society Racism, misogyny and other forms of discrimination and intolerance will be eradicated All impossible promises, lies. Ho are they going to transform in 10 years what it's taken hundreds of years to build? Any wonder people vote tory when the left wing party of Wales is promoting pipe dreams as a realistic chance.

Eddie Izzard working class is a perfect example of what I mean. A freak show using those at the bottom of the food chain for political advantage and to further his own career. These people wouldn’t pass on a poor person, if that is what working class means. If it doesn’t mean poor, then what does it mean ?

Yes I did once, I can tell you why too. It's because I'm not a mindless sheep that keeps voting the same way regardless of performances and outcomes. I also cannot vote for people who are making promises they can't possibly keep. We know manifestos are never entirely honoured but putting out a manifesto that is entirely a fraud, what kind of people will vote for that? An indy referendum in 5 years....lie. A promise they cannot keep unless Bojo agrees and we know he won't. If you are gullible enough to fall for that then carry on. You call me tory as if it's an insult, I feel the same about you and Plaid Cymru, frauds and fakers who can never deliver.

What you know about Thatcher you read in socialist weekly and you were too young to vote pre Corbyn .Come back when you're learned a bit how life really works. Plaid since , don't make me laugh .

I find that an interesting comment, it ties in with a conversation I was having earlier. Let’s unpack it a bit - when you hear the term ‘working class’ are these the sort of images that are conjured in your mind’s eye, Keith? Is your understanding still inextricably bound to notions of traditional heavy industry and organised labour?

Not for me. I would think of service jobs. Catering, hospitality, shop workers, cleaners, warehouse workers, food production etc. as the larger part of ‘working class’ now.
