It was a clear and obvious error, he was conned by the dive. Can’t see how it isn’t clear and obvious to be honest?

That’s not how it works unfortunately. That’s just how it should work. Regardless of that, as much as I didn’t want it to, the goal was coming. Denmark were hanging on after an hour.

But it didn't come only for a cheating decision
| Same old England on 23:25 - Jul 7 with 732 views | Badlands | Kane trued it in the second half and should have been booked. I think the ref from last night would have been far more switched on to their cheating. A few used to do that against us and got away with it too. | |

Definitely a penalty and if a Swansea player did that in a huge match, you wouldn’t be complaining. People like you just don’t seem to understand football at all 😂

Oh come on! When did we become danish supporters? We can hardly blame England for Ericksen collapsing. The penalty, yes it was a dive and a very poor decision but can we really say England didn't deserve it? It makes no difference to me and as I have been saying, Italy will beat them anyway. My honest opinion! Italy are a far better team than the one England just struggled past. I say struggled because despite all their dominance they still needed a dodgy penalty to get the winning goal...and a poor goalkeeping choice for the rebound, Shmeichel should have pushed the ball away not tried to hold it. Italy are beasts defensively, the Spanish pounded away but Italy stood firm and Spain are a much better side than Denmark too. Italy are also much better in midfield and up front than Denmark.

It wasn’t a penalty, but it wasn’t a clear and obvious error. Had the ref booked Sterling for diving, that wouldn’t have been overturned either.

I have to disagree, it was clearly a dive, there was no contact with the first player and Sterling was going down before the second player touched him, as such a clear and obvious error, or it should have been to the VAR man. Booking Sterling for diving would have been the right decision. Even so, England deserved it. Lat thing, it was an entertaining game but nowhere near the quality of Italy v Spain. Where England may have an advantage is they have several players with real pace, Walker, Sterling, Saka to start with. Italy lost Spinnazola and don't have the genuine pace England have, in my opinion that's where they need to focus, quick balls into space from deep, it tore through Denmark but even so, the Italians are far more savvy defensively, Chiellini and Bonnucci won't be so easily fooled but both of them are getting on, it'll be interesting.

It did go to the VAR man. He didn’t think it was clear and obvious so didn’t overturn it. Guarantee he wouldn’t have given a penalty if the ref hadn’t. The rules are stupid, but that’s what they are working to.

I became a Danish supporter when they drew the saes. There's a big chance that England would have won anyway. However we'll never know because the deck was stacked as I've described above. Yes Italy should win, they are I believe the better 'team', but in a one off you never know, anything can happen. Including a dodgy penalty decision. So I'd have much preferred the Saes to have been eliminated by now.

If the ref is in a decent position and from his view it was reasonable to give it, they don’t have to overturn. It looked a pen to me live. Didn’t on the replays. Otherwise we’re just saying the VAR operator cheated?
