A draw will suffice. 😉 World Cup qualifier. Home Wednesday 8th September 2021 Kick off 7.45 pm LIVE on SKY Sports Football & S4C After surviving a huge scare against Belarus at the weekend, Wales will be aiming to make it three wins in a row in World Cup qualifying when they host Estonia on Wednesday. Cymru are third in Group E, a point behind second-placed Czech Republic with a game in hand, while Estonia are bottom and without a point from their opening three matches. Ex Swansea City player Joe Rodon has joined up with the Welsh squad and will play on Wednesday. This is the first time Wales have played Estonia in a cup competition. The previous other two games were friendlies. Wales are undefeated against Estonia. 23 May 1994 Estonia v Wales. 1-2 International Friendly 29 May 2009 Wales v Estonia 1-0 International Friendly Estonia Facts Estonia is famous for its dense woods, charming historic centre of Tallinn and delightfully unique history that spans millennia. In recent years, the Baltic nation has seen a boom in tourism and even implemented a Digital Nomad Visa for those looking to stick around long term. The thought of hundreds of uninhabited islands scattered across a glistening sea may not conjure up images of a Baltic nation. However, Estonia will surprise you. Estonia is home to a staggering amount of more than 2,300 islands. Many of which are completely untouched and unexplored and others loaded with ancient history and charm. The most famous of these Baltic islands are Hiiumaa, Kiknu and Saaremaa. They also invented the Kit Kat, a four fingered treat often associated with the U.K. When Estonia invented the Kit Kat it was called a Spicy Sprats Snack — Vürtsikilu Suupiste. You can find sprats in most local food stores and supermarkets. They can be bought smoked, canned, or pickled in a spicy brine. All bring unique, fresh flavors to the table. Had this food been made of a wafer covered in chocolate, split in to four parts and packaged in a red and white wrapping it would have most certainly resembled the Kit Kat as we know it today.

| Wales v Estonia Matchday Thread *MATCHDAY IS HERE on 09:11 - Sep 9 by Badlands | Bale straight at the keeper. Bale free kick (or was it twice) high and wide as usual. James still fluffing the final ball 95% of the time as he did in the under 18s Every team has an off day but Cymru are now having occasional good days. At least Ward was on form. Estonia FIFA ranked 106 Wales FIFA ranked 13 Utter disgrace. |
Allen is past it, Gunter is past it, Johnny Williams not good enough for League one. No Rodon (he might have given us an option bringing the ball out of defence)- Morrell is alright just needs a stronger more tenacious partner in the middle of the park. Dan James wasted and marked out of the game.

We needed more incisive passes itn the box or behind their defensive line. It is also a pity the James' final ball is so often poor. [Post edited 9 Sep 2021 11:45]

Bale header also looked a tidy chance. I think Rodon should have played, just to get Ethan in midfield. Hal should have been in squad.

Does Hal Robson-Kanu play for a team anymore.

| Wales v Estonia Matchday Thread *MATCHDAY IS HERE on 22:07 - Sep 8 by ReslovenSwan1 | Wales waited until 75 mins before playing short snappy passes into the box assisted by Allen and Harris making good which Roberts was not making. That style was needed for 90 mins. Roberts showed no football brain as Jonno was free on a open goal for the square. I cannot see any justification for picking Roberts. he is not good at running passing or heading and cannot score anywhere. He also skimped on the Belarus trip by failing to get his visa. Time to ditch. Page picked 3 league 1 players Gunter, Jonno and Morrell. Page need to change things in preparation for the play off earned by the Nations league. Czechs seem to have lost their mojo. There is a guy at Huddersfield who's mother is from Newport Sorba Thomas. Robson Kanu is not even playing and would have helped with some craft tonight if match fit. |
Think Kanu has retied. | |

He is without a club just as he was in 2016 after the Euros. Looking after his bank balance instead of his international career. He was a big match player the type that Wilson and Tyler Roberts are not. I do not know why these guys do not sign short term deals for 6 months to keep relevant.

| Wales v Estonia Matchday Thread *MATCHDAY IS HERE on 01:25 - Sep 9 by Badlands | Yes it is. Giggs has brought the FAW into disrepute, guilty or not. Even if he could sue for constructive or wrongful dismissal the amount left on his contract would not be great. |
Surely if he's not guilty he cannot possibly have brought the FAW into disrepute!?

| Wales v Estonia Matchday Thread *MATCHDAY IS HERE on 04:25 - Sep 9 by Brynmill_Jack | It’s got nothing to do with strikers. We can’t even muster a decent ball into the box as they were defending so deep they killed all the space. If you can’t pass the ball into the box you have to carry the ball into the box. Not one of our players looked to have the ability to do that - it’s a basic skill. |
There's no doubt there we more underlying problems, but my post specifically related to the last 20minutes when we should have been trying anything & everything to score. During that period we did have plenty of the ball in and around their box. I was also talking about things within our control such as including a striker in the squad, as opposed to Ramsey being injured who could well have made a difference last night earlier on.

I read on here last week that when Jonny Williams plays, Wales play better. That person wasn't being sarcastic. I find it best just to continue scrolling. The delusion some have regarding the "Welsh" national football team and the quality of some of the players is worrying.

| Wales v Estonia Matchday Thread *MATCHDAY IS HERE on 13:01 - Sep 10 with 553 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Wales is a running team not a passing team. Wales passing is not up to standard and not accurate enough. Page was playing long ball for 70 mins with Roberts stationary doing nothing. After he went off Harris created space and Allen moved forward into the no 10 position. Wales should have done that from the start. Estonia had an easy ride for 70 mins with not even a high press. | |
