Migrants getting in to the U.K. more than ever before on 09:54 - Nov 13 by controversial_jack
How do you know that?
That's pretty much a given. Put any random 23000 people together and there'll be good and bad.
Go to any home game and I can guarantee there will be bad people in the crowd, hooligans, racists, common criminals. That's life unfortunately. You can even put 23000 police officers together and there'll be bad eggs in there somewhere. 23000 NHS staff, council workers, Amazon workers, wherever you look there is good and bad.

Yes this notion that they are all good, lovely people is a nice warm fuzzy idea. But after giving thousands of pounds to people smugglers they are in reality literally all criminals.

The biggest surprise is, what with Brexit being such a disaster and the UK being such a mess, why do so many people still want to come here?
Still Kilky, your gloating is misplaced because you know if we turned these people away you'd be attacking that too. You should be criticising the French for breaking an agreement, something we give them a lot of money for too.
You only attack the UK government though, don't you.
Why should the French protect our borders?
Strange view some Brexiteers have got, but not really surprising I suppose.

Maybe the French should protect their own borders.
Why should they care if people are transiting through? Do you really think the UK would force people to seek asylum here if they thought they were trying to get elsewhere?
Taking back control see.

Because they are encouraging immigrants to risk their lives crossing the channel in flimsy dinghies, and probably using them as a tool to hurt the UK for leaving their wonderful club.

I think the Mayor of Calais would disagree with you there as he’s pretty peed off having thousands of refugees permanently on his doorstep.

The vast majority do. We get just a tiny percentage coming here compared to what other countries have taken in.
Beats me why they want to come here. Many European countries have better benefit systems and more opportunities than this country, unless, as someone posted, it's the English language or they may have families or friends here.
That will explain why hardly any settle in Spain then. No health system for non spanish, unless you hold an S1 card which are like rocking horse stuff. No housing, benefits or free anything. Poland the same.
They tried housing 200 ( families ) just outside Cadiz in barracks. Well, 200 young men it turned out to be. All kitted out, beds, kitchens, self sufficient facilities, capability to grow their own food, supplies donated from locals. Paid €20 a day each from a local charity, and assisted in community integration. They stayed there for four days, smashed it all up, set fire to the building and poked off to France. Can’t think where they were heading 🤷â€â™€ï¸

I’m not sure what other borders they protect, but what I do know migrants walk over the Spain France border unchallenged. The French say the couldn’t care, which is why they do the same at Calais etc. They know they won’t be around for too long with the UK being the goal for many.
I’m still scratching my head how they get from France to the UK, there must be traffickers being allowed to operate in France untouched by the authorities, further proof of the French not really caring.
It’s almost as if they don’t care, I think it’s because, the don’t care 😂

We all know why they are heading to this terrible country of ours.
There’s nothing here for them unless they work, there are jobs on offer and you pay what’s called an autononomo ( like an insurance stamp ) and the expectation is you will live here as everyone else does, paying your way or whatever. It’s a hard call for those who don’t want to, as I said for me it’s why there’s very few ( if any these days ) in this part of Spain.
Plus the locals hardly make them welcome in the main. The junta de Andalusia ( local govt ) released stats on those that do stay here 2/3 years ago, and unfortunately for the migrants the amount of crime and serious crime they committed was more than quadruple that of the local population. Very serious sex crimes being the main issue. That was the final straw for the people in this area who are still very militant.

Spot on.
How fantastic though that Brexit has actually created more immigrants. Maybe the EU was not to blame after all.
Its almost like if you offer dull people a simple solution to a complex global problem, then it turns out its not real. Brexit in a nutshell…?
Refugees are welcome. Global Britain see.
The younger population here who are more left wing than most countries, we do have a socialist govt here. Which isn’t that well known. They are very much pro immigration. It’s the older more Franco sympathetic members of the country, and there are many who are more vociferous and take the law in to their own hands when they deem it necessary.
However

There is nothing strange in believing you should stand by a legal agreement, unless you are a politician anyway. They seem to think they are impervious and it's long overdue we change that.

Seems that you haven’t heard of Bodger Johnson. Strange being as your lot guaranteed him power.
‘They need us more than we need them’.
Apparently.

I have it on good authority that, if you are a Brit, then breaking international agreements in a ‘ very specific and limited way’ is all good.
Hopefully the grown ups will regain control very soon.
