The younger population here who are more left wing than most countries, we do have a socialist govt here. Which isn’t that well known. They are very much pro immigration. It’s the older more Franco sympathetic members of the country, and there are many who are more vociferous and take the law in to their own hands when they deem it necessary.

It’s a common sense thing. And I think anyone sensible would agree that migrants should use the correct channels, not the English Channel or the channel tunnel. People smuggling is illegal, it’s a pox on humanity. Paying money for the services of people smugglers is illegal. They are breaking all sorts of laws to get here whilst putting their own safety and the safety of people who have to go out and rescue them at risk. We should treat these people like the criminals they quite literally are. They can apply for asylum whilst completing their prison sentence. And if they can afford to hand over thousands to traffickers they can afford their own legal costs too. | | | |
