| New regulations in the uk on 15:56 - Nov 29 by Lohengrin | I was up in London a fortnight ago and the tannoy announcer on the underground was reminding people to wear a mask in the station and on the trains. In fairness everybody I encountered was doing exactly that. I think you can usually depend on most folk doing the sensible thing when the situation requires it. |

Don't think that's been thought through - Llanelli are isolating in Ireland because there isn't an hotel in Wales set up as Covid secure UK residents can isolate at home, where are the tourists going to go?

| New regulations in the uk on 16:39 - Nov 29 by fbreath | My wife has been catching a train from Neath To Cardiff and back for the last two weeks, she always does this time of year for 6 weeks due to work. She said the trains are very quiet compared to the last few years prior to 2020 (she didn't go there last year due to covid restrictions). Also a lot of people ignoring the mask wearing. |
Caught a train to London a few weeks ago. In Wales there were announcements on the station tannoy and I’d say about 70% were wearing masks, the conductor, guard didn’t challenge those who weren’t. On the GWR train, no announcements - nothing, zip. Wrote to and TFW and GWR to date and only the latter have replied. They gave a BS answer, but at least it was a response.

I don't think Drakers ever re introduced masks on public transport or shops. My thoughts are since the rule was introduced in Wales it has never been changed. Even with it in place throughout, we still have had higher rates than England. Which leader is better at controlling the virus?

All the big supermarkets have said they won't enforce mask wearing, in case of staff abuse. Tesco Fforestfach this morning, loads not wearing masks, the genie is out of the bottle

If it's the law , and it is, the police should get involved. Stores also have a duty of care to their customers, they should be fined or closed if they persist in allowing it to continue.

Didn't think it was law just a guidance, don't think they got resources to go around arresting people for not wearing mask ,can't get them out for assaults or burglaries..

Can someone explain to me why supermarkets can get away with flouting the law, but a local cinema can't. EDIT. https://gov.wales/face-coverin What is the legal requirement? Face coverings must be worn in all indoor public places, and public transport, including taxis. You do not have to wear face coverings in places where food and drink is served, such as pubs, cafes and restaurants. You do not have to wear face coverings in wedding, civil partnership or alternative wedding ceremonies. Some wedding or hospitality venues might ask you to wear a face covering. They can do this because they have looked at how to manage the risks for their business. Where food or drink is consumed in part of a premises, like a department store cafe, or hotel restaurant, you have to wear face coverings on the premises except in the area set aside for eating and drinking. It may be easier for these big stores to just refuse entry. They have security staff there, but they don't care as long as they make a sale
